Anyone think I might be competetive for an interview?

3600ish TT mostly part 135 no 121
2 Jet PIC types
2,000 Turbine, 420 jet, rest is turboprop
600 TPIC all turboprop
Currently flying single pilot king air with a superviser role (not CP)
No Degree, one year of college then dropped out to fly full time- already had all my ratings and at the time and the pilot market was great so I went straight into 135

Employment history is my biggest hold up. First big screw up was 2.5 years ago at an imfamously scetchy 135 shop. Was working 28 days a month and was asked to come fly on my 2 scheduled days off that month and declined. Was threatened by the DO twice that I would be fired if I didnt, and on the second time he said maybe I should resign if i can't come in and at that point I had enough so I did. HR accepted my immediate resignation but the following day I received an email that my resignation was declined and I was terminated. They put it on my PRD as such. I was an at will employee and this was illegal but my lawyer said theres pretty much nothing they can do about it. Next screw up was 100% my fault- 1.5 years ago I was employed as a charter pilot for only 9 months for a small company then quit. I was commuting coast-to-coast and the 'quick' upgrade I was promised was clearly not happening so I bailed for a PIC job. I know pretty much all I can do at this point is build consistent employment history and be a star employee and hope for a good hiring wave.

TIA

I'd say to the first one that we are human and stuff happens. No one is perfect. If you get the opportunity to speak about it make sure to own it & describe how you grew as a professional. Describe how that learning event carried forward and made you a better professional today. The second job you progressed to a PIC role at another company, I wouldn't say spending 9 months there and moving on to a role with more responsibility is a negative so if you have to talk about it turn it into a positive (unless PRD will reflect differently).

Go to job fairs, that's 100% what got me an interview. Follow the FB page. Don't give up after 1 job fair, keep trying. Good luck.

About how long did you hear back from Delta after a job fair? For example…I went to OBAP and heard back from United only after a couple of days. Just wondering what guys have seen with Delta’s response time.

I had three other part 91/135 people in my class and one was managing a single seat KA with only turbo prop time. I currently have two friends in the interview pool with only 135 time. We do exist!

Step One, apply and update it monthly, at a minimum, and pay to have it reviewed

Step Two, after it is reviewed get your internal recommendation on to trigger a review

Step three, Pay for the 1 on 1 interview help. They will help you not talk yourself into a corner in regards to your previous employers. As mentioned above, got to spin a positive and learning out of the experiences.

It was around 3 months after the job fair.

Ok well that’s good to know then. Sounds like it could vary on response time. Guess I should be patient in the meantime. Thanks!

No....filler.

The post Covid fight for warm bodies is over. If you got in with stats like that before consider yourself lucky. Finish your degree, fly 121, and then get into the pool with thousands of others that have similar credentials and don't have the cobwebs in their history.

This is unnecessarily pessimistic, IMO.

...

I would delete this rather specific work history from your post, and then apply anyway and have your app professionally reviewed. If you are asked to interview, then do 1-on-1 interview prep to prepare for some questions about your employment history. The less-than-a-year-stint is really no big deal, as people leave companies for other ones all the time. The other situation, which is essentially a retaliation issue, can be explained away with some good preparation.
