Anyone hear of how classes are going to go at the beginning of the year? CJO in hand a couple of weeks ago. Thanks

539 according to the ALPA app.
600 doesn’t sound crazy if we put together what I heard and what Fangs said. Hopefully hiring picks up again if/when the Max arrives. That said, anyone hear anything at the ATL base visit yesterday? I think LAX is next week, so maybe someone will ask if they don’t volunteer the info. |

Just for the record, the number I heard was half that, but… strong but…. I wouldn’t put any stock in it unless/until corroborated by an actual official source. Until then, it’s a rumor I hesitate to even relay. I really hope it’s just another bad rumor.

Did the hiring team give any outlook on when to expect a class date? I interviewed back in June and was told October or later. Looks like most of the October new hires were April CJOs. |

1,100-1,200 was the standard for 25’ & moving forward by the company, why believe any diff?
“many SLIs [are being] involuntarily removed from their SLI positions starting September 17, 2024.” “With this being such a large announcement“ “management feels we are at least 10 percent overstaffed based on the projected training demand.” ” projected training for 2025 appears to be heavily frontloaded again” Furthermore, the ALPA update today says: “This week, Flight Operations announced it plans to reduce the number of SLls in the Training Department as part of an overall staffing reduction.” Not sure if the bold is limited to just the training department, but that’s not remotely consistent with hiring 1000+. This is a big change. That statement is far more consistent with the APD (via LCP) rumor mill of 300 next year. It sure would be nice for Flt Ops to share this information with us line pilots, like in the Base Visits or Fall Flight Standards meetings. Or both. |

Go read the Instructor council newsletter, published yesterday. It’s ominous

I expect them to keep their cards close to their chest on hiring and even if they didn’t I just don’t trust what they have to say. |

while it would be nice to see them let us know their plan, I don’t see that happening. I’ve seen how they talk to the non cons on sky hub and I expect the same kind of rhetoric towards us. ( it’s all roses until it’s all doom and gloom) If their plan is to only hire 300 for 2025 then I expect them to hire 100/ month jan-mar then come to us for concessions. This gets the maximum butts in seats for summer while simultaneously giving them a point to negotiate from.

Was told maybe Febuary but who knows. Once my company found out I got the CJO via PRIA, they made me resign so as soon as I can get a class, when it is my turn, would be great.
