Theyre still planning to hire 200 more between now and start of summer. I think the total hired thus far is somewhere over 500 if I'm not mistaken.

Last MEC newsletter with the March 11 class said something like 380 so far this year.

Both are correct. There were classes planned for April and May, and now there aren’t.

Can you elaborate on this? I was just told in class last week there will be 200 more new hires over April and May. Did something change in the last 2-3 days?

First, there’s lots of information with no source floating around. There is what people think but spout as fact, and there is what keeps getting said at indoc classes.

Second, they appear to be approaching it on a month by month basis. It is definitely a moving target and the only “official” info so far was “at least 500.”

Third, there will likely be one class a month for flows; I don’t know the details of their contract and how they stop that process. There were a few non-flow people in some of those classes last year.

Last year had a summer drawdown to put simply instructors on the line. This summer appears to be shaping the same.

Anyone telling you anything, including me, is giving you information that is at best a guess and at worst a flat-out lie to stir the pot.

If I were to Suges’s a target availability date for those who can pick it, I would say Jan of a given year is a pretty good time to be available. YMMV.

I have no newhire class information. The source of your 200+ is who you are trusting? A good friend was told in newhire class 30/month indefinately. One month later they stopped hiring. 6 months later the NWA/Delta merger was announced. He sat at the bottom for 6 years. No furlough however. There was a time when nobody believed 2000 a year was doable either. There is no right answer, especially going into sect. 6.

Delta stated at the end of last year they would hire just over 500 for 2025.
There are already over 500 slated for classes up to the end of March.
They also stated there would be no hiring over summer and needs would be reassessed in the Fall.
There will be classes for the flow people in April, May and June because they are held back for 3 months, but their seniority dates are all accounted for in the 1st three months of the year.

I just received the email with my AON invite, which also stated to expect a 2nd email with login creds within 24 hours. I then have 7 days from the date of that email to complete the assessment. So my timeline currently is: Mar 4, standby for AON email; Mar 24 AON invite.

Has anyone who completed the AON this week heard back yet?
