Question about DTW. Is it realistic for a new hire to get DTW and how long can one expect to get a line there? Easy to attain commutable 4/5 days? Thanks.

Yes it is realistic to hold DTW as a new hire. You can expect a line right off OE on the 717.
4-5 day trips is no problem. Commutable on both ends is another story...

Good news is DTW has a lot of hotels close to the airport that charge reasonable rates for commuters.

Realistic. And with Spirit gone now in DTW, VERY realistic. And fwiw, a line is not always the best end goal. Welcome to Delta.

Recent AE’s (vacancy bids) have had dozens of unfilled DTW 320 spots as well.

Expect to get DTW nearly immediately on any NH equipment, indefinitely. And absolutely during the current hiring spree.

If it were my kid, I’d tell him to take the equipment he wants, and then bid to change bases to DTW at the first opportunity (which is monthly). As long as you are on property when the bid closes, you can bid.

Good luck!

Good luck!

Except 7ER (757/767)

Those don't exist in DTW. If you get it, one year seat lock since it's not ava in your desired base.

Yeah, probably should have made that clear to someone not on property yet.

Well.. not the 737.. only 7 new hires have gone to the 737 there the last 14 months.

Might explain the 7 trips in open time this morning, for flying today.

Only 7? Yep, that explains it. But probably not like you meant. Atlanta had 25 as late as this afternoon. 😅

Well it's a small base up here.. I'm sure ATL has their (bigger) issues too.
