I also had a good cop/bad cop routine towards the end of my interview. Just handled it calmly and professionally and when the interviewers were done they both smiled and joked about it. Just play the game, get the job and move on.

Everyone I know that has been hired here prepared professionally or showed up prepared by some other means
Letting your resume speak for you and expecting the HR people and pilots to be impressed with what is written or what you have achieved is the fastest way to get the "thank you for coming, but we are going to pass" I respect your times and resume, and I don't know what you did to prepare, but to have the people interviewing press you a little bit on past decisions and get defensive and insult the Delta campus is probably not the best way to do things. None of us like the campus or anything on Virginia Ave. Its not nice and pretty, but there are plenty of other things around here that may not be new- but they get the job done. You are competing with everyone from a 23 year old CFI with under 2000 hours to an Astronaut Navy SEAL Brain surgeon that has two Superbowl rings and has also saved a baby after curing cancer. They did something similar to me in my interview years ago. They found a perceived weakness in my app, which in my case was relatively low total time (as a military fighter guy, lots of low-duration flights). One of the interview Captains even came back to it at the end, with a very condescending question about it. I thought I knew that they were probably trying to see if they could get me to react/get defensive, so I very calmly answered the question. When I finished, the “bad cop“ immediately broke into a big smile, stuck out his hand to shake mine, and it was clear that my guess on the situation was accurate. It sounds like they did the exact same thing to you, but unfortunately you took the bait. And it cost you the job offer. That’s exactly what the interview process is partly for. Everyone feels tremendous sympathy for NK pilots but you aren’t entitled to the job just because of that. You still have to pass the interview. I can totally understand your anger at NK and life in general right now, but reading your rant above, you come across as very entitled and bitter, and that likely came across in the interview too. I genuinely hope you land on your feet. Best of luck in future interviews, whether you take this advice or not. You're in a tough situation, but you must learn how to smooth that over in the application / interview process or this will keep happening. Absolutely get prep, that's non-negotiable in this era. |

Is there a chance of my odds of being selected slimmer now with all the spirit guys and gals losing their jobs now. If that’s the case I would completely understand because I am fortunate enough to still have job with the current times. I hope all the spirit folks can land on their feet!

Similar timeframe here. AON link given 4/27, AON completed 4/30. Friday (today) 5/8 will be business day #5. I wasn't sure if me not having an interview scheduled (even after passing AON) right before Spirit ceasing has delayed my interview schedule or if passing the AON is as good as getting the interview.
