OK, but if I wanted a 2-5 day trip for tomorrow and put in a request tonight under "Enter All flying Days For Award" for 21-25 would it assign me a turn on the 23rd? If I only put down for the 21st would that preclude me from getting multi day trips?

From: 7ER B...whatever that means.
Aren't their rotation parameters you can adjust for a WS just the same as with a GS? So if you only want to WS 2-4 day trips or trips over a certain value, can't you make that one of your parameters to avoid having an annoying turn show up as a commuter?

Yep, that solves it, thank you. Didn't see them on the first page and had never put limits on a GS request so I didn't know where they were. All sorted now.

Sorry for the bit of thread drift, but I can’t start a thread yet. This one seems in the neighborhood.
I successfully used my APD on a 4 day trip that starts September 24. I first tried to drop it with a payback day, but of course could not due to inadequate reserves. So after the APD I had scheduling apply the PB day to the first day of the trip. Now my schedule shows “APD 0828 TOFF” for Sep 24. There’s a remark at the bottom that says “0828/24 built to re-apply APD day 1 for 7743/24 original drop.”
I thought I had read in the ALPA newsletter “Optimize your schedule” (now deleted? Can’t find it) that even if you use an APD to drop a trip, you can use PB days to recover some/all credit (true) AND also WS or GS over those days if you choose to…? However, I was clearly bypassed for a GS opportunity that starts tomorrow on Sep 24. I assume it wasn’t offered because I have an APD code on Sep 24. My question is, should I still have that APD code after using a PB day on Sep 24? Am I ineligible for any flying on that one day?

You can’t fly over an APD day, so I’d say it’s correct

Thanks, I see the reference that an APD code is a hard “no fly” code. But I’d gotten the impression from that deleted newsletter that using a PB day over an APD would “erase” the APD code from that day, enabling WS or GS flying, which clearly didn’t happen. In fact, the remark makes it sound like they built a fake trip for Sep 24 AFTER applying the PB day just so they could re-apply the APD code. Seemed strange, and I’m not heartbroken about being bypassed for the GS, but it made me curious. Anyways, thought I’d see if any scheds experts wanted to weigh in before I made a phone call out of curiosity. Thanks.

Ah ok thanks, good to know (and it makes sense that when you pull the APD trigger it’s going to restrict you from additional flying). Wish I could find that newsletter to see the wording again.

The point of the APD is you really need that day off. It’s a nice option to have for life events but it’s not intended as a method to manipulate schedules.
