I guess that works but I’ll be shifting from GS to IA to guarantee 2x pay if I pick something up then.
They recently gave out the most green slips they'd ever given out, so you thought that would just continue for infinity and beyond?

They've given them out because of poor staffing. But I personally refute the argument that ARCOS is bad because it allows for more straight pay and less premium pay. It's the same complaint when people WS when GS are going out like candy. If the program let's me utilize a WS or OOBWS as contractually allowed, it is none of your business. Just because it could benefit the company through accelerated trip coverage does not mean it doesn't benefit some pilots, especially those who have historically been disadvantaged by the current process because of the archaic method of processing short notice trips.

We adjust and the company adjusts. It's one big game of positioning, is all I'm saying. IF OBWS become the coverage tool norm, I will bid (seat and monthly) accordingly. And yes we are all competing on a level (PWA) playing field but adjustments win the game. And yes, it's a competition. DWYW

I disagree it's a competition. Not everyone here is after the most dollar signs. Personally, I'm thankful that some people WS to the limit. It allows me to bid reserve and stay home.

Might the group agree that we compete for trips and days off and such, but our goals differ. It is competitive within the group, just in varying ways.

If you’re bidding Dayton layovers, the game is easy (Go Flyers). If you’re trying to maximize $$ on 10 says of work a month, it is more of a challenge.

Give the in-base pilots a hack at a greenie before OOBWS.

I don't get the OOBWS angst. I was ATL320B and there aren't a ton of OOBWS going out. I count 9 this month so far and it's almost the 14th. Compare that to the size of the category and the number of green slips far outweigh the OOBWS by a factor of probably 5. There are guys already on GS#2 already.

What am I missing? Is a OOBWS stealing GS#3 from a guy driving around peachtree city with his uniform and crew bag in his car? Cry me a river.

Then you are competing for the QOL reserve can provide when you go unused. I personally like to max pay for min TAFB. During REG months that means always trying to be more efficient than the PCS schedule dealt. 2x pay when available helps tremendously. We have a PWA the company takes full advantage of, I do the same. I unfortunately can’t accidentally over step for my own purposes, the company OTOH…

No, but when a senior guy has GS#3 a junior guy has 0 because he doesn’t have the right days off. OBWS use will explode when scheduling sees base xyz has 30 people willing to accept and acknowledge without even making a call. This is now somewhat a GS killer and will expand to be a GS megakiller that bails out the company for making poor staffing and basing decisions.
