That letter doesn't come across as a drunken rant to me either. Personally, I thought his term as MEC chair was a mixed bag, and I've never really bought into the cult of personality that surrounds him.

I will agree, didn’t come off like that at all. For sure some beef there, but there’s some solid points as well.

That has been my experience as well. I was once told (when voicing my concern on an issue) that ALPA knows and ALPA will do what’s best for me. I don’t really care either way. I just am not a huge fan at all of this mud slinging rhetoric. To me—you know you’re losing the election at this point and as a desperation play you just blast your opponent.

Sometimes mud slinging is required but on a different avenue.
I think they have to pay 75$ for each of these campaign emails so make them count rather than mud sling.

That had to be a letter of surrenderer…he has completely lost touch with the pilot group if he thinks we want more of that crap!
Also, I find it interesting that he confirmed all of the rants on CC about the MEC spending hours in executive closed trying to find a way to recall then Master Chair, RS…that they all previously denied.

What is the voting % of pilots in an LEC election? I don't know the number but I think "pathetic" would sum it up. I have to ask myself why is it so low. I personally think the answer is....because they vast majority of pilots...do not engage their reps....do not follow the politics of ALPA...do not really care unless it is something egregious....and basically "surrender" their vote to let more"informed" voters determine the election.
So....those reasons above pretty much sum up my situation. Consequently, no matter how salacious the mud slinging.....it does strike a nerve if the allegations are true. It would definately cause me to vote against somebody...not necessarily vote for somebody.
The letter invites the reader to fact check his allegations. If untrue or unfounded, it will come out and he will lose all credibility. So, if some find it to be a drunken, desperate rant....I find it to be informative. How many pilots will actually vote this time....will it sway the election?
WTFK.

The Bartelians are going out with a bigger squeal than the Moakies after TA1…speaking of which how much longer is their beloved leader going to be allowed to hang on as EVP???
