Why do you think people spend so much money to live in NYC instead of Louisiana or Florida. Do you think it's just because they are too dumb? You haven't "cracked the code" by living in the swamp. I've lived there and would gladly pay 6% of my income to never have to live there again.

Everytime really junior awards drop jealous folks come left and right out the woodwork. When I upgraded in 2 years on the 717 I heard all the grumbling, especially from one disheveled looking(extremely wrinkled shirt) 330 FO about this and that is why he didn't upgrade. And this is just the beginning. Wait til the next bid. Things will get even more entertaining

Pilots that live in any base do make more money by taking those short notice greenies that a commuter can’t take, higher credit trips that are double non commutable thereby avoided, by others.
But a 10 year 737 Capt makes the same rate per across the entire system.
