I've heard of that happening but your situation where you be more senior in your new category it seems like a better deal to go to your new aircraft. So far the scenarios I've heard are very lucrative ie 7ERBs offered to delay upgrade training with pay protection thru out the Summer. I'd take that offer in a heartbeat

If said pay protection was for the left seat, flying the summer in a category so tightly staffed they are making offers like that could be a cash windfall if you know how to work the system.

It seems like that will open up a can of worms for Delta. Don't they have to make that offer to everyone if one person is given that opportunity? Seems like it could easily violate seniority if the company cherry picks who they want to offer a training bypass too.

The rules of the road don't apply to oncoming traffic, Delta will run everyone of us over to make another dollar.

If it isn't expressly stopping them in the PWA they are going to do it, especially because seniority is irrelevant in this matter. Just ask the pilots who held reinstatements to CA positions but were left in category as FOs with no pay protection while CR sent FOs junior to them to train as CAs in the same category for which they held reinstatements. The current language in the PWA makes no mention of seniority (nor pay protection), it merely requires mutual consent under 22.D.6.a. Enticing pilots with the awarded category pay rate is obviously a way for the Company to try and increase the "take rate" and attempt to bail themselves out of another mess caused by their beloved 365-day conversion window.

Today, supposed to be an easy 1 leg to MSP then 14 hours downtown. Got into the previous airport the night before so late, no food at hotel or airport. Nothing open beyond Dunkin in the AM.

MSP-DCA turn tacked on, (not MSP based so legal reroute) into a 8 hour rest for a DH only last day.

Plane was supposed to depart for DCA over an hour before I landed on the inbound leg. I had to eat something that didn't come from the snack basket, so I stopped and got a sub.

Crew accommodations couldn't get me a hotel at the airport and sends me downtown. But no van. Skyhop is five out for an hour. Hitch a ride with another crew (uber cancelled on me twice)

Get to hotel. Get my room key. Go to room. Walk in on someone. Go back to desk.

By the time room gets sorted its almost midnight with a 615 van. (Dh only FDP)

If we are this pants on fire screwed up in March summer is gonna be ugly.

I’ll never understand people who don’t flip the latch lock on hotel room doors. Did you walk in a hottie? Or a dude? Some things to can’t unsee amiright? Haha

Yikes. At least you got a hold of crew accommodations. I called in fatigued recently and it took over 2 hours to get a hotel. No IROP at all. My initial ready time had to get pushed back due to the delay which made me illegal for the new flight tracking had planned. I’m an optimist, but the wheels are starting to fall off a bit.

It seems like every dept at Delta is falling apart now. Mgmt keeps saying we are short staffed, but its been this way for a couple of years. They've had plenty of time to staff depts.
