Is there a way to preference a slip request for trips that start with a DH to a specific city where I'm living or staying? I can select trips that start with a DH, but how do I ensure it's a DH to my city? I tried "Acceptable Start Co-Terminal Cities", but according to scheduling and DALPA that isn't it.
2.A.54. “Co-terminal” means the following airport combinations:
a. DCA/IAD
b. DFW/DAL
c. IAH/HOU
d. JFK/EWR/LGA
e. LAX/BUR/LGB/ONT/SNA
f. MIA/FLL
g. ORD/MDW
h. SFO/OAK/SJC

This got me thinking… Spirit has the X and Y list, essentially allowing their pilots to pick up broken trips in a “spirit city”. Allows commuters to pick up some open time from where they live and provided a bit of flexibility for scheduling to cover a last minute snafu. Is there a reason we don’t have a similar provision here and all premium trips seem to need to start in a base? Spirit pilots found value in it and it was a hugely popular contractual provision among commuters and in base pilots alike.
For this reason I’m fine with keeping the requirement that trips must start and end in a base. If they want the ability to recover trips from a city, have a pilot base there.
