Go check out the C1 council update just put out. ( Aerodocs/ ALPA/LEC) No sour grapes, just another councils view.

It absolutely reads like sour grapes. From what I've been hearing, they threatened to try and get all the reps recalled that didn't vote for TK. Guess who already has recalls out for them, less then a day after the vote? And then they put out a comm a week later saying those that voted for DH are getting recalled.

Let's do a little unscientific poll: Are you OK with having an MEC chairman that is not actually an operating/qualified Delta pilot? Were you OK with having a National chairman that was not a working/qualified airline pilot? (DePete)
If the answer to either of those questions is yes, would you be OK with farming out the entirety of our union leadership to someone like the Teamsters?

You are mixing terms. A pilot on sick leave or temporary disability is still a member in good standing.
Should a rep resign after going on sick leave short term disability following a common orthopedic surgery?
Should a rep on NQAT resign due to the company’s logistical problems with the training pipeline?
An ALPA volunteer/worker/whatever in either of those cases shouldn’t be getting Flight Pay Loss. They shouldn’t be getting a dime more than if they were on the line slugging it out with the rest of us.
There was a resolution on this last year. In March the Delta MEC unanimously voted it down.

Thanks Big E. What is interesting is that there are all these shenanigans going on, yet to talk about them is undermining the union. Yet when the contract is settled and written, nobody GAS about those same shenanigans. So I want to know what is the proper time to be talking about all of this. Apathy is what gets us what we have. And as I have said before I am a 30+ year ALPA supporting koolaid drinker, but this is too much for even me.
I did feel like we should honor the unions request to not discuss contract negotiations in public, but with what’s going on in-house at DALPA, the divide within our union at this particular moment is far worse than any pilots post about what they’re willing to settle for IRT our contract negotiations.

Find it a little disturbing that the LEC and the MEC were unanimous in asking the pilots for mass participation and a strong "strike" vote which the pilot group delivered....
then immediately had a razor thin vote on a replacement MEC chair immediately thereafter, presumably right before a contract "end game" and/or a pilot strike.
Not a good look. Not a good look at all. Very disappointing.
