How about the numerous day turns that pop up short notice, due to batch sizes will never get covered, only the most senior get called, no one else has a chance, skeds gives up and goes to reroute. Watched several of those happen over the course of a couple days. Never got a call, hadn’t done a GS yet. Trips leave open time, nooped due to coverage.

We gonna burn people at the stake for calling in and offering to cover a trip when that person is actively trying to fly a GS? The trip otherwise goes to reroute and no one gets paid? Don’t assume you know exactly what’s going on.

This…the expanded batch size is a big win

And before the haters hate, I’m just saying he could have done the same trip for twice the money.
Once some senior panics and pulls the trigger on a W……the rest of em all panic and follow suit. Happens all the time with the credit surfers.

except they only expanded it for trips over 8 hours out, not the close in ones. that was a huge mistake. The short notice ones are where the RR happen. We should've upped that to 20 or 30 during the day and quiet hours at night.

That's something that could easily be changed through an LOA. We should really pivot in the next few years to signing LOAs to fix issues rather than wait until the amendable date

And if they do that, a pilot will be paid 150%-200% for it.

We can get creative and play with some of the other variables - like time. Just do it in seniority order 2 at a time and decrease the time to 2 minutes or something. 15 minutes (or whatever it is) is just as much overkill as the small batch size.

2 min is too short. If I'm driving by the time I pull over, look at it and see if i can make it 2 min is gone.

But, out of base GS would be awarded prior to the IA’s, also goes before reroute (at least in theory). Agree at his seniority level there are no guarantees. Maybe he’s not at trigger, lots could be going on. But at face value it looks like he could play the game better, for his own self benefit. That’s all I was pointing out. I’ve taken my share of oob trips when it works for me. But if we all play the game better we all benefit. Something about strength of team, weak link, something nautical….
Have you looked at said pilot's schedule? There are a ton of reasons why it's better to white slip vs Greenslip. Said pilot could be starting a 5 day trip tomorrow in their base. An easy OOBWS conflicts with a a trip in the next bid period and drops said trip unpaid. An excellent technique that is used often by Credit Surfers to clear their schedule. I urge you to stop judging at face value and realize that's there's more to the game just blanketly going for GSs

i agree with this. why not just blast it out to more people during the day. i'm sick of getting calls at 2am for trips that have been going through the arcos list since noon-and yes it happens frequently
