Haha. This isn't how a real person talks. We have training in circadian rhythm, we have to know what the window of circadian low is and we get training in fatigue. Being aware of it doesn't make anyone an expert but it does allow them to have educated discussions, something you apparently believe you can't have unless you are a PhD.
I'm not the one making sweeping generalizations that all types of flying designated as lean overs are fatiguing or dangerous. Either you are making that argument or claiming that I'm not an expert enough to say that making that argument is flawed and absurd.

you ever heard the old saying "just because it's legal doesn't make it safe?" It's legal to fly into a massive hail storm, but it goes against my better judgment

You do know what the C in WOCL means, right?

As a general rule, I have no problem with lean-overs. I especially have no problem with lean-overs that are operate in and DH back. Each person is responsible for their own fitness for duty. If you can't get any rest in the hotel in the 6 hours you are there and can't complete the return flight as scheduled, call in fatigued.

They've been allowed for years. The company doesn't want to build them because they pay 10:30 for 2-3 hours of block

Leanovers are unsafe by any sleep science approach. But pilots don’t actually want safety at all costs, and are willing to sacrifice safety for their income and convenience in the same way the company sacrifices safety for profit.

Lean-overs are far more safe than transcon red-eyes and 90% of international flying
