The sensitivity of some on here is comical.

Oddly, Easter is a holiday for APD and IVD purposes but is not a "holiday" for holiday pay purposes. BTW, Super Bowl Sunday, Labor Day, and Good Friday are also not "holidays" anymore. (not sure why Good Friday ever was a holiday really). But we added as holiday pay holidays both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. So in the end.... we have 9 APD/IVD holidays and 7 holiday pay holidays. I'm just wondering why the APD holidays don't match the holiday pay holidays.

----------------------------
An APD request may be denied regardless of the number of reserves available during the period commencing two days before and ending one day after the following:
  1. 1) New Year’s Day
  2. 2) Super Bowl Sunday
  3. 3) Good Friday
  4. 4) Easter
  5. 5) Memorial Day
  6. 6) Independence Day
  7. 7) Labor Day
  8. 8) Thanksgiving Day
  9. 9) Christmas Day
----------------------------------

Holiday Pay

A pilot who operates a rotation that touches one of the following holidays will receive additional ADG pay, no credit (in addition to any other form of pay) for each such day:
  1. New Year’s Eve
  2. New Year’s Day
  3. Memorial Day
  4. Independence Day
  5. Thanksgiving Day
  6. Christmas Eve
  7. Christmas Day

Be careful what you wish for. Would you want New Years Eve and Christmas Eve going on the APD/IVD list?

The APD/IVD list encompasses 2 days before (and one day after), so the “Eve’s” are already included.

Yes we have 36 days where we can/will be denied APDs and 7 days we get holiday pay. Better than nothing but…

While I appreciate the sentiment, I am 1 for 1 on APDs being approved in a holiday blackout period.

Small sample size, but don’t assume you won’t get it, give it a shot.
