Twice I’ve had a pair of uniform pants ripped in a hotel van that had broken/jagged seatbelt fittings. Both times the expense report I submitted after replacing them was denied.
Cheap pants for me, and a spare pair in the layover bag.
It’s dumb attire for the job we do.

What kind of pants durable enough for van rides do you suggest?

I think the point was more about value vs durability. Why wear expensive clothes in an environment that tears (literally) them up? You can look just as good in $40 pants as you do in $140 pants.

I'm a fan fan of Ballroom Jeans. Perhaps there is a Ballroom Dress Pant in the future.

You are certainly confused. All posts on here are saved. Please find one where I say that someone looked like slob wearing a rain jacket on walk around. I don’t even know why I’m arguing with you. There is no argument. Wear the proper sh*t and there will be no issues. ****ed you can’t wear a NorthFace jacket on walk around then I suggest you go take it up with the chief pilot.

they tell you in Indoc what is approved and what isn’t.. give an inch and we’ll take a mile and then we have to be treated like babies and not adults because we can’t wear a uniform properly that we are PAID to wear to work. Too many people playing stupid games and it will ruin it for all

ancman 09-02-2023 08:12 PM

Of all things, why are we debating uniform wear during walk-arounds? Anything you’re wearing during a walk-around is completely overshadowed by a ridiculous-looking bright neon vest.

Personally, I couldn’t care less what anyone wears, FOM-compliant or not.

Delta offers a rain coat uniform piece? Is it like one of those streaker coats?

Who’s more of a slob, a pilot with a light weight rain jacket walking around the plane during a time they are authorized to not wear the full uniform or a pilot soaking wet after walking around in their uniform shirt?

I am glad you take those jackets personally though. What an affront.

Yep. I can't believe anyone would care what a pilot wears on a rainy walkaround, especially when the "offending" attire is literally worn to keep the uniform dry. No one cares, no one notices, and they couldn't tell even if they tried, due to the bright yellow vest we are supposed to wear now at all times.

Are you dense in the head? Again, I asked you to quote where I said someone wearing a raincoat looked like a slob doing a walk around. You couldn’t. Now go back to your hole. And I stand by my comment about guys wearing cheap black pants look like slobs. You must be one of them because I apparently struck a chord.

No. One. Cares.

Welcome to the no fly list.

I know, you don’t care, you’re likely proud of that.

You types are all the same.

Rant off. North Face jacket on.

If only! We must be on different jets, or I’m doing something wrong.

Curious to what you consider "cheap pants?" Because the pants from Crew Outfitters etc are made by literal slaves and of the lowest quality material on earth.

New guy here…class date in Oct. Hey so is it true there are new uniforms next month? Also what changes are there to the uniform if any? Thanks

Supposedly, yes. They are prioritizing the NH’s, but regardless you won’t have to pay for it.

Change in fabric, and an option of Single or Double Breasted.

GogglesPisano 09-09-2023 03:25 PM

According to Crew Outfitters we will each be getting:

1) A new hat
2) A new tie
3) A new blazer
4) Two new pair of pants

All at no charge.

danblum17 09-09-2023 04:13 PM

I just got my class invite yesterday. What are the latest thoughts on shirts? Brands you like? Brands to avoid? Thanks!

A lot of folks like “A cut above”. They had a bad run in Covid, but seem to have sorted out their issues.

Some folks like the “Flight” shirts. It’s really down to personal preference.

I guess the design of the epaulets isn’t changing then? I assumed they would since the black fabric is slightly different than before. Mine are in need of replacement soon.

the blazer with 3 buttons will only have the bottom 2 button instead of all 3 - so not as constrictive with buttoning all the way up

Then why did they put "Delta" on it and sell it at the Uniform Store?? 🤔🙄🤣

PlaneS 09-11-2023 05:00 PM

As far as pants are concerned, has anyone tried a pair of black stretchy golf pants, the kind you can get at Dick’s? They look identical to the uniform pair and have to be more comfortable…

Uniform color is changing very shortly....RUMINT says the uniforms in the CPO's are a light black / blackish-gray, so I wouldn't spend money trying to match current color

Actually lots of people care - and most importantly the people that pay you! In addition, look at page 5 of this month’s SEA base newsletter. Right in the middle of the page - PLEASE DON’T WEAR NORTH FACE JACKETS (OR EQUIVALENT) WITH YOUR UNIFORM. So, to reiterate, lots of people care and it is the captain’s job to enforce it. So, appreciate it if you don’t put me in the position of telling you how you need to dress. No need for no fly list. Just do your job that you’re getting paid well into the six figures to do and we will get along great.
