So you called a deviation and the course was corrected? What’s the issue?

I had an incident a few days ago where the CA decided to click off the a/t in gusty conditions, vref was around -10 kts at ‘50 feet, resulting in a near tail strike.

thoughts??

Lol wat? Your second story is a far cry from your first story where you suggested you had to take a plane from a captain.

Stop being a dramatic clown. You're at a big boy airline now. Allegedly.

We need to keep reminding everyone he posted this.

CA or FO, it doesn’t matter, I always take the plane from the other person if they click off the A/T. The stronger the gusts the earlier I take the plane. All in the name of safety. It is never safe to click off the A/T’s.

I try to get that on the tapes every flight.

A Star Wars fan would say "I've got a bad feeling about this" on every flight...

Call out performance. If he says "correcting" then let it go until it's time to call for a go around.

If the CA doesn't respond, take control, but if it's too late that's probably not on you unless you let it go on for an extended period.

If you call a GA and the CA doesn't do, then that's on him, don't fight for the controls unless he's non-responsive. You can always key the mike and say "DAL 1234, Go Around".

Was this a serious post? If you can’t safely fly without A/T, maybe you should be a truck driver.

Gotta be a joke….just like clown is. He must be talking about a captain at FedEx though since he was definitely not going to wait around on the flow like a loser…

Decided not to post the story of the one time I had a Captain not listen to a suggestion and resolve it with a "thanks." It is normal to make mistakes and good for the other pilot to catch the error. The response to being caught should always be "thank you."

But the lesson learned is worth sharing. Consider that we sometimes have NO IDEA what is going on with the other pilot.

You must try to have a constructive debrief. If that works as it does 99.999% of the time; good. Then forget about it. If a debrief does not work and if it is a no-**** safety concern then start with Pro_Standards, but also consider talking to a Line Check Airman or Lead.
