I actually think I’d have a blast, if I’m being honest. But that doesn’t mean you’re not unprofessional and flying the line day in and day out with bloviating boomers would get tiresome. You’re aging out…just like I will some day. We probably won’t agree on much. Depending on your level of interest on hearing honest feedback, I’d tell you as much. Twenty years ago “sound like a woman” might have been funny. It probably still is to your false-machismo peers. Gay jokes were common and got a lot of laughs too. Now when your ilk drop those in attempts to entertain, it’s just awkward and unprofessional.

No worries, most of us have dealt with awkward parents/uncles/grandparents and we get it. Times change. The impressive elders can still teach great life lessons and share some wisdom in ways the messaging is heard and appreciated. Others roll like you do and waste opportunities to teach/share/educate in ways that are helpful in some misguided attempt to do what…entertain? Inflate your ego?

I hope I don’t feel a need to go out swinging some day. I like teaching the youngins almost as much as I like to learn from them. Not everyone’s mind is paved as a two-way street though…

The solution to DALpA's money grab is to put it out for vote if they think it's so deserved. But my main goal was to open up that can of worms and at least discuss it, more than the email they quietly slid into our inboxes at 6pm on a Wednesday night, informing us that they were giving themselves raises. So I'd say that goal has been accomlished, even though none of you liked what I have to say about it. Well I didn't like the angry mob voting away my retirement restoration either.

yea, it’s a fun game in a Monte Carlo simulation if one truly puts the 4th pillar to a test with just personal and spousal contributions as anyone can do, on top of company DC. If you max out the 401K, back door Roth, spousal Roth, and HSA, and still can’t retire at 60+…. One needs to either examine spending or the economy has truly failed.
