If someone chooses to avail themselves of that option, why do you care? You are just as welcome to bid to CA and do the same thing.

member dues. How do we give all those positions a minimum 14.3% raise and not raise dues? Go to DALPA.org and pull up the treasurer page. Go look at a quarterly FPL report and it’s 20 pages of volunteers. Each line is their monthly FPL. Maybe 30% are company paid.
Example: Pilot volunteers for Comm committee. They need them to attend MEC meeting in DTW.
Old schedule:
Sun night: Travel ATL-DTW unpaid
Mon: 5:15
Tues: 5:15
Wed: 5:15
Thu: 5:15, fly home on 5pm flight.
Total cost paid by dues: 21:00
Proposed schedule:
Sun night: Travel ATL-DTW 6:00
Mon: 6:00
Tues: 6:00
Wed: 6:00
Thu: 6:00, incentive to stay another night to get travel pay
Fri morning fly home DTW-ATL: 6:00, back by 9:00am.
Total cost paid by dues: 36:00
Cost increase to membership: 71.4%

If it was just for the MEC officers and a few other 24J positions, no one would care. It’s all the other part time positions proposed to be paid 6:00/day plus travel days. That expense is paid for by

year 12 WB captain would make $579K crediting 108 hours/month.. this doesn’t seem like “volunteering” if they can easily make more than a line pilot with from the comfort of their home.. I sure hope they would pick up the phone, it’s taking away from people who actually want to do good and some people will go there to just collect the pay and not do sh****… just like congress..
again, checks and balance. Let the pilots vote. This is just coming off as corrupt

2. ZERO people are making 108 working from home. Frankly, that’s a lie to even say any full-time folks are working from home. You know better. It is mandatory 18 days, minimum in the ALPA office on Hartsfield Center Pkwy for the full time folks, and they can’t pickup above that. Besides, the total number of people marking 108 is like 20ish, and over half of them are paid by the company, not our dues.
3. Have you ever been a “volunteer”? Or asked enough questions of people who are to actually understand how things work there? Not saying there aren’t some bad apples on occasion, but do you have the first clue how much work these people do for you?
4. You can be against this change, that’s fine. But k is what you are even talking about and don’t use garbage arguments.

Simplest answer is most likely the correct one: someone of these 3 types was salty to get turned down and decided to start pushing the "good ol' boy club" narrative to make themselves feel better about getting rejected.

5:15/day seems abominable. 6:00/day plus commute seems reasonable from my perspective.
