The 320LVP posting is so they can literally hire one LVP in SLC. Don’t get too excited.

I'd imagine the spool up time for SLI's is pretty long. So by the time they vet applicants, bring people in for interviews, actually hire them, then get them fully trained up, they'll be ready by about January. So I don't see them posting SLI postions this week for August or Sept new hire classes. Not saying those classes won't happen just that these new SLI's aren't going to be in position if they do hire more this year. LCP's can probably be fully qual'd much quicker.

Taking a current FO SLI and turning them into a CA SLI shouldn’t take any spool up besides the application and interview.

If they have to actually go through that long process as a formality to do stuff they already know how to do and were literally just doing, that’s pretty stupid.

Spool up time for an SLI is SIGNIFICANTLY longer than LCP

That's not what I was talking about. I was talking about taking your average line swine and turning them into an SLI. Yes obviously a FO SLI to CA SLI requires minimal time/training.

I believe most (if not all) of the CA SLI positions they’re advertising will go to current FO SLIs.

The reason for the job posting was to balance staffing to comply with PWA 10B10 and 10B12.

[QUOTE=Viper25;3925780]

looks like they plan for A FEW backfills so we might see some NBa movement. Possibly to prime the pump for some fall/winter movement? Any guesses on an over/under? Maybe 10 73/320a in nyc?

Color me confused and I never really understood this.....so an "FO" SLI can become a "CA" SLI without actually upgrading in the actual aircraft, just in sim world??

Seems kinda sketchy, what if an actual captain, wants to be an SLI? They get told to go sod off?
