Heck on the FB scheduling page we had a guy a few days ago ask if his YS over X days pays above guarantee. Nothing surprises me anymore.

I actually think this is a mistake that a lot of people make once. A lot gets thrown at you during indoc and the first few months on the line as a junior reserve guy.

Flew with a 10,000 seniority FO this summer who didn't know how swap with the pot worked. Bro just worked his schedule and that was that.

That's exactly what I thought about. I just feel bad, I know he's brand new. I hope he did it as some strategic move, but I'm certain he doesn't understand. But I didn't wanna creep him out.

I flew with a 1500 CA who did the same thing. I mentioned bad day worse day swapping and he looked at me for a second and said delta pays him to fly his schedule not play games

IA #2 - probably not in the norm, but certainly a possibility

IA #3 and beyond - deal making going on.

Or just a short staffed category with a majority commuters.

For the newb it might not even be a mistake. When I got back in th edarkages I put in for all the slips just to see how they worked and consolidate quickly. Guess how I found out people frown on OBWS. Went to ATL and missed my commute home on the last flight. The captain just shook his head and said why did you do that you screwed yourself and somebody out of a GS. Good thing it was the last leg so I didn't have to listen to his speech because he was more interested in catching the bus back to PTC.

Missed a good opportunity to tell him that your WS paid you more than their GS. If you’re locked in the cage, might as well poke the bear.

I flew with a sub 7000 number FO commuter a little while ago that didn't know that if you deviate, you get an off-rotation deadhead. He'd been bidding for trips that start and end with a deadhead to BOS, deviating, and non-revving in with a backup because it was easier than getting to NYC for him.

I think I made that guy's year when I told him.

[QUOTE=demon llama;3973286]I waited 45 minutes on hold to get that one. /QUOTE]

....and this is exactly why the company is hitting the 23.M.7. button constantly. We have tons of pilots in a scrum, willing to cross check their own grandmother to the ice to get that tasty double pay.

IA was designed to be something to be avoided. If they weren't getting takers on the IA's they would need to get creative and find other ways to cover trips within the bounds of the PWA.

Maybe, maybe not.

What is a certainty is that we do have pilots making deals that are screwing other pilots out of premium flying. Whether 1 or 10^x are doing it. That's wrong. On so many levels.
