If icrew will still let you, put a block of Training Golden Days on either side of your vacation. Training then has to happen and be completed either before the first block, between the two blocks, or after the second block of golden days. Worked for me, ended up training in March after my Feb vacation after the second block of golden days. .

Appreciate it thanks! It let me put the golden day bid in, we’ll see what happens.

Yup...but, again, context. If you were referencing pre-merger, there was only one category that paid the highest rate which, on the Delta side, was for 18 total aircraft. Post-merger you had two ("the Whale" and the B777) with 36 total planes. Now we have three aircraft categories that pay the highest rate and 140 or so aircraft. Definitely trending in the right direction.

I believe training golden days must be put in with the original AE bid.

OE requests can be put in until 2359 on the 19th of the month prior (aka ‘by the 20th’)

As posted above minimal hiring from 2001 to 2014 but there is another important point overlooked. Prior to the merger DAL during one stretch had about seven 777 aircraft. That was it - 7 aircraft at the top pay rate. You had to be an area code to hold A. Then with the merger and some more 777 purchases we had about 16 each of 777 and 747 - still the only AC at the top pay rate.

The 2019 pay banding bringing the 330 and 765 up to top rates is what really allowed the seniority to drop on the WB A. Waaaay more air-frames paying this rate.

Additionally, requests for desired days free of duty prior to or during training must be made prior to the 5th day of the month TWO months prior to the bid period of the training. As in, before May 5th for training that happens in July. PWA 11.F.2.b.

In many cases this means that this request has to be made BEFORE the actual AE is even posted.

You are correct. See Note 8 in the AE. I entered my Training Golden Days at the same time I put my AE bid in.

Can't hurt to try, though, Delta IT being the stovepiped archaic system that it is...
