I recall a whole bunch of furloughs from most airlines during that time.If oil goes to $25/bbl we've got a whole different set of problems. Nobody is going to be talking about profit sharing, growth or upsides.
Hmmmmm why would the WSJ outsource their work like that? If I were the author I'd be ****ed.. think of the money I am losing. Must have ALPA as their negotiators..

crewdawg52, I just sent you a PM.
Oil went from the $140's to the mid $40's a few years back. How much profit sharing was paid out then? I recall a whole bunch of furloughs from most airlines during that time.

Economy goes up, oil goes up. Economy goes down, oil goes down. Until something breaks that trend the economy and the higher cost of energy will be screaming...

ROLL TIDE ROLL.

I wonder what the vote tally would be if the pilots voted twice:
The first vote would be what was best for them personally.
The second vote would be what was best for the pilot group.
I think that if they voted for what was best for the pilot group (as a whole) the
TA would be voted down.
Anyway, that is the biggest problem that ALPA has, and has had the past 20 years, at least. Everyone is voting for what is best for them instead of what is best for the entire group, and vis a vis, the profession. That is why this career is where it is nowadays.
I guess you could say Congress has the same problem.

March 4, oil at $105 a barrel. June 4, oil at $82. Think I read somewhere that DAL saves $100 million on fuel costs for every $1 drop in the cost of a barrel.

You do the math.

Perhaps it is because they figure no one is going to buy airline tickets, or want to drive their car to work ... so they go to the next link in the chain.
