Would this make 80 an ungrateful deadhead?

(I do agree it sounds wrong)

While I'm at it, I was on SC at 0430- this trip ends at 2130 tonight. That's way over 16 hours, but the last leg is a dhd... how is this legal? Scheduling said it is since the last leg is a dhd, but that doesn't sound quite right...

I know at my previous company it would not have been...

You weren't represented by DALPA at your last company now were you?

:D

I'm kind of teasing.

What I believe is it right. One time I timed out and they pulled me out of the cockpit (not physically) and found an FO walking off another airplane and put him in my place and put me in the back and I deadheaded to DTW. So I went beyond 16 hours.

I'll go double check the PWA, unless Bill Lumberg wants to look for you. :D

What was the additive to NATS on the 88? NATS HALF LAVS?

I just said approach briefing complete, hold my beer, brace for impact because I could never remember what the half thing stood for. :)

Don't worry. Research was done. It was discovered very few pilots actually come close to ALV. Oh yeah, the staffing formula has not changed. This will not require less pilots. You are an exception. Just over a year from now, you will be able to sit 7 short calls. No big deal though. Research was done on that too. Very few pilots actually sit 6 short calls in a month.

Which is confirmed by the fact several guys are, right now, NOT posting that they're getting [deleted]. 80 must not be significant, statistically speaking.

There: that should make him feel better.

Considering we have 4.5 hours of deadheads split between 2 legs with one flying leg in between, yes! :)

True, but in international categories those 24 hr periods will be 14 and pilots will sit most if not all of the seven.

In the last three months I have had two that went to six SC's. This month I sat six by the 15th. Its all legal, but we should be, at a min, getting suit up pay for every SC sat. It now goes against RAW, but there is no true credit for it.

I gotta feeling we'll see mass SC's even in the winter. I didn't care much about what was in sections 2-28, but I'm going to go read up and see iff my hunch is right. Somehow we've got to get reserves up from 45 hours to the PBS staffing formula of 60.

I use my hand, like I was a CFI, and I demonstrate an airplane flaring and say "we're going to like this, then this, then like that, and there."

Also, "visual... backed up by the CAT III."

Those are my favorites.

Now before someone blowed up. I've memorized 7 things in ATL: 27L tower, 27R tower, ramps 1, 2, 3, maintenance and passenger service. I still have to look everything else up. Somewhat intentional.

btw, damn wish I had thought of this:

DAL stock's taking a pounding today...any info on why? What do we expect for next week's earnings numbers?

Elvis90 07-19-2012 10:16 AM

Phone rings...

Me: "Hello?" (I'm a little tired - been sleeping late in the day after an early morning turn)
Scheduling: "Hi, Elvis, this is Pat in scheduling."
Me: "Howdy."
Scheduling: "Elvis, I see you acknowledged your 6th short call tomorrow morning at 5:30 AM, but it's coming up as illegal."
Me: "Illegal?" (as I'm yawning inadvertently)
Scheduling: "Yes, so we're just gonna switch that to 10 AM, alright?"
Me: "OK"
Scheduling: "I'll show you acknowledged!"
