Hey Einstein, I'm not angry about anything. I actually think the discussion has been pretty civil...until you came along.

Nu,

Well said!! The SLI was a compromise and now, unless I'm pulled back in (), I will depart and go look for my Shirley blowup doll!!

Sorry guys, I just can't resist!!

Carl,

I made an argument about why that pull n plug advantage is not gone a page or two ago. I would appreciate you thoughts.

I'll try one last time with this - and only because I am in such awe of DENNYCRANE!!

The arbitrators heard that we have a much greater number of near term retirements. DAL-S argued that no retirements could be counted on until they actually happened. So the arbitrators chose to give us a portion of the retirements. My point is this: If these 270 pilots chose to retire the day before the SLI, all DAL-N pilots would have been 270 pilots more senior on THEIR list and as such, would have been ratioed up higher on the NEW list. Sensing this might be the case, the arbitrators gave us a portion of our early retirements (about 270) at the SLI. If 270 DAL-N guys had not retired for a number of years, then the arbitrators would have guessed wrong and DAL-N pilots would have had an advantage. But since the PRIP has been such a success (and so quickly successful), the arbitrators guessed right.

That's my last shot at explaining this. I was trying to tell Bar and others that saying things like "unprecedented actions that advantaged NWA pilots" is like spiking the ball in your face in the end zone. The NWA proposal lost. The DAL proposal was by and large accepted. Any legal opinion would have to conclude that the NWA side's legal team lost the fight. It's just not pleasant to have people complain about the only bread crumb that was tossed to us by the arbitrator.

Don't know if that helps Denny, but that's all I got.

Good point. Remember though, that decision was made by DAL-S management, not DAL-N.

Agreed, it suck for all pilots. Especially me, since I was on the 200 and from Anchorage. Now I have to move to the base of Hustle and Flow.....Memphis.

If you are down there, I'll be the guy with a camo Keystone Light hat who looks lost asking where the good snow machining is...

Here is something to chew on...DAL-S argued that new hires at Delta were getting the 767ER and therefore deserved a better ratio compared to the new hires at NWA. The arbitrator agreed and a whole bunch of DAL-S new hires got better than DOH compared to the new hires at NWA. All because a few were getting the ER right out of class. The problem is DAL-S has right sized itself and those previous ER new hire pilots are now on the 88.

I just talked to an 07 DAL-S hire the other day who is still on the ER out of JFK so they aren't all on the 88.

"DennyCrane" loves a good discussion!!!

My point is that is exactly what did happen with the 270 pull and plug. Those 270 were pulled out of fNWA list as if they were retired, you moved up, the lists were merged and they were put back in. Now, if your argument is that if these guys retired before the merged list and then the arbitrators did the pull and plug with 270 more pilots, then yes, you (the fNWA pilot) would be more senior. But that isn't what happened.

All I see is that 215 guys (hopefully) have taken the PIRP which is good for everybody. I'm not trying to be a PITA, but you gotta admit if you feel your right (and I gotta admit you are alot, just not here) you don't let go!!!!

The previous was all in fun. I haven't latched on to anything in a while and was getting kind of bored. Hopefully this has been one of my sane periods in between bouts with the "mad cow!"

There are still about 83 of them still holding lines on the ER in NYC.
