So what I hear you saying is that you can go to butt-slammin jail with child molesters and murderers for using unsecured wifi.

Is that correct?

Possibly, but not likely. Depends on which state you are in, and if federal charges are involved. The prosecutors are not actively looking for this, as it's small potatoes.

But, do you know what your neighbor is doing on his computer? Your stolen IP will "belong" to the neighbor which might garner some attention.

There's the "Computer Use and Fraud Act" as well state and local laws.

Google "jail for stealing wi-fi".

I'd agree it's a bad idea, generally. But "sharing" is completely legal, depending on the TOS for your provider.

Usually I've got an open network just for the kids when they come over with iPads & other toys that go online. When the kids leave, I unplug it.

One way to get customer loyalty. No rules or laws broken, but still fined. I just wonder................. but then again................

Do what I do, have a guest access on your router too. Different signal and password than the main signal. Works great.

She's over 18. Enjoy.

That is absolutely phenomenal. Being a gymnast, you probably don't have to worry about getting her preggers either. ;)

JC Lawson is still on property. He was talking to a bunch of us in the lounge last week and FWIW, he sounds like he would change quite a few things if he could go back and do it over.

Is that a set of restaurant silverware wrapped in a napkin or are you just happy to see me?
