I think this guy could spare a couple engines.......

Thanks. Like I said, though, I realize that it's practically unheard of currently for a 21 year old (that's what I'll be when I graduate) to become a new hire pilot with Delta. I'll tell you, though, I'm going to try and push as hard as I can to increase my chances of it happening.

(And by the way, when I do make it to Delta, I ain't leaving!)

It will continue to be unheard of. It was possible once, but not anymore. Soon, you will not even be able to work at a regional until you are 23 with an ATP. I don't mean to be negative, but 21 is an unrealistic goal. 23 is the absolute youngest you will be able to get on and even that is near impossible.

If you play your cards right, you are gonna have a career that most of us can only dream about.

But here's a piece of free advice. (Worth what you paid for it, I know) When you go to college, get a degree in something totally unrelated to aviation. IMHO, ERAU is a total waste of time and money. Take it for what it is worth.

(I have an architecture degree, and furlough was never a real big concern because I could always find a job doing something else)

Oh, and three other words to think about: Air National Guard. Look into it.

If only I knew how many airboats are powered by Lycoming O-540's liberated from Cherokee 6's.

$50,000 fresh with logbooks. $500 on the back of Ed's Air Boat.

Bad day when you come to the airport and every 6 cyl airplane at the airport is sitting on its tail and the cowlings are missing. The air boat crowd can't use the propellers and I've seen $20,000 props tossed in the ditch.
