Totally agree ACL. The timing driver was AMR. Anybody ready to be the "world's largest airline" again?

If it happens it will not be a nwa Dal type deal. Not even close.

Largest by the long shot if it happens.

What do ya have? Merc?

No, I've got an evinrude, pre-bombardier. It runs fine, it just needs something every month.

I'm looking seriously at the suzuki's, mercs and yamahas. My best support is for mercury.

There was pilot in my new hire class that got an interview as soon as he met DAL hiring mins due to his internship (an I believe he had some relatively low level staff job at DAL). Basically, he switched departments at DAL when he started class.

I had one in my new hire class as well. I think he was 24.

I'm sorry...I'm not at ERAU right now, I'm in high school. (Shocking, I know, I'm on a career forum!) Yeah...six or seven years to college graduation from now sounds about right...

Well, you are going to hit this career perfectly. Keep you eye on the ball and go to class every semester and take both summer terms at ERAU if that is where you are going to go. If you take the six am flight block you can walk out of there in two and a half to three years with 130 credits. I suggest 15-18 credits a semester. If you do not get caught in the college anchor in Daytona you will be years ahead of your counter parts. Also make sure you keep your driving record spotless.

He did not have just schooling an an internship fwiw. Flight time beforehand during school would expedite your progress to Dal. Also if you can get corporate experience in college it is a major plus.

I like Merc's but 150 horse is way to small for me :D

You are describing my "plan" perfectly. I'm graduating in 3 years, coming with a Private, doing Instrument and Commercial in one semester apiece, and doing their CFI summer training program my first summer there. I will also be coming with a TON of AP stuff.

That's why I'm so excited and optimistic, the timing could not be better. I have a gut feeling that my obsessive reading and writing on here will pay off in terms of my career.:)

It will. Trust me. Instruct there. Apply for Dal's internship for you summer after your first year. Also look at taking a semester off for one here. Less competitive.

Many may laugh at you working so hard but as you know seniority is everything. It saved me years and was able to upgrade at a regional at 25. Barring 9-11 I would have had a much different career. I hope nothing like that ever comes in your, way. Keep in touch with us mou seem to have your, head screwed on straight.
