Yes, your right. 320's are older. I hope they all stay and the retirement rumor is just that. I don't know if they have life extensions available or not.
I really do hope we see significant hiring soon. I hope the mainline numbers grow as shown in previous posts.
I have the worst schedule and associated quality of life that I have had in many years. I hope my family hangs in there until I can be based back at home. Displacements sucks. Commuting sucks. Reserve sucks. This job sucks right now. (rant over)

Something that is interesting to me is that Compass has 45 poolies currently with the goal of 100 by years end. If Delta wasnt planning on taking flows why would they be hiring so much? One would think both Management teams would be in constant contact about the flows. I doubt Compass would want to waste their time hiring everyone for nothing. They did get a heads up that flows would happen by the end of the year, if that changed wouldn't they stop hiring?

We have 69 A320's, the oldest being a 1990 model.
So...I think some of the older A320's were always slated to be replaced by 737-900ER's.
And recall that the company was looking at existing A319's in lieu of 717's if Southwest's deal wasn't good enough.

The times for your posts:
2155
2316 (1:21 min later, late at night..., and only 5 or 6 content posts later)
2320 (4 min later, getting less patient, only 1 later, and that one a good joke about rig being insufficient)
2329 (9 min later, only 1:35 after initial question, kinda childish tantrum post)
That's why. Seriously dude, it's neat you're interested...

... post of the day. I read that crap rigorously and I don't even transit ATL often!

When the economy turns around, growth will return and quality of life will improve.
Looking at the current retirement numbers in the latest monthly based off the rma, I bet we don't hire till 2017. We parked a lot of dc9's, soon airbuses and 757s. The 90's and 717 wont fill as much as we have retired and are about to.
We have 57 A319's, the oldest being a 1999 model.

Of course it also has a greater mission capability.
