Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Didn't we already announce the end of DTW-HND in anticipation of SEA-HND? It would only be a loss of jobs if we cancel the DTW-HND schedule and we don't get SEA-HND.
If we are trying to get additional HND slots why would we give one up before we had a replacement? What am I missing?

For me it is quite simple. There is no downside with us keeping a HND slot, there is a downside with losing a HND slot, therefore I took 1 minute out of my day and sent Lahood a message.
I believe the issue is that DAL is losing money with DTW-HND, so it is cancelling service and attempting to use their HND slot from SEA. This opens up the bidding war.

How the heck did ATL become a Fifi base?
There is almost as many fifi departures out of there as DTW... but only 1/4 the amount of pilot slots. Sure would like to see some more love for ATL fifi in the coming bids. I can hold a line on the ATL ER and 737, but am 20% away from holding one on fifi.
On a related note, if you plan to send the letter, the selection you want to click is the one that sends it to LaHood, not congress. The link is set up for the Hood letter to be easy. If you click on congress, its a bunch of gobbledygook.
There is a LOT of bureaucratic intertia that goes along with that.
For committee heads, there needs to be a vetting process that goes beyond "here is the guy I want, you need to confirm him". We do that for the big stuff (merger, NC, etc), but it should be extended to every committee. I lets a little air into the process, and you might get some really smart people step up who don't have their ticket punched.

Or have you adopted my saying, "if it's Boeing, I ain't going!"
Nevermind, it won't matter in two weeks anyway...
