Is yours on floats? I've always wanted to get my float ticket. I've flown a buddies J3 on floats a few times...until he flipped it a few years ago.
Nope, I wish it was on floats! Pretty much a plain jane J3 w/ no electrical system, a 1946 like yours...sucks getting totaled in a hurricane, ironic for an old plane to survive that long only to be destroyed on the ground .

I've thought about heading down to Jack Brown's Seaplane Base to get my float rating, figure it'd be pretty easy as they use J3s. That's pretty close to your neck of the woods, isn't it?

So, anyone heading down to the BVIs next week for the interline regatta? Understand there's a decent contingent of Deltoids most years, wondering if any APCers.

DC9 First off I think its a smart move. Any time you add a new plane their may be hiccups whether its training ADs sim time etc. I see the DC9 as a check valve to make sure the 717 gets up and running and then bring it down. The worst thing to happen is to have a plan for the 717s and something comes up and then you scramble to fill the capacity/

SEA with RA my guess maybe he is up there to say we got the HND route? Does anyone know when that is announced?

Happy weekend everyone

It sure didn't take long either... give our mgmt an opportunity to replace us with someone else, and they're all over it! Ahh well. It should nicely feed that Korean Air hub they are building to replace NRT (see yesterday's WSJ).
Explain to me how the new contract gives management the opportunity to replace us with Alaska or KAL.

I did my SEL at Jack Brown's - great place to do it.

LOL! Just so you know, that exact same talk about Delta is happening over here (SWA) amongst our junior folks! You did hear that we recently bought AirTran, right?

Grass is always greener & all that...

I've successfully slid vacation before, but was having trouble this time to. Does your quote mean if your vacation touches the next month (1 day) you cannot slide it. I was trying to slide mine and the drop down box would not let me select my vacation. Was that the problem?

Well,

Its not great news but we added EWR-CDG and we're up-gauging DTW-CDG. In 2011 AF was doing that flight. So it could be worse, we could be announcing that AF will take over the BOS-CDG as well as the ATL-CDG and they're carpeting bombing us with 380s.

Its all relative and I'm trying to distract myself from the announcement that because so many folks are returning from Mil Leave we won't be hiring and I'll be sliding backwards since the bottom of the list got sold a bill of goods. The 717s will be growth etc, etc.

Now, why hasn't anyone in the know answered the question about why Flt Ops fought against the retention of the DC-9?

I think all the flights are Delta aircraft. When they say operated in conjunction with, I think they mean in the general code share sense in that the schedules are timed to allow connections.
