Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
The case was split in two. That's why it ended up being called Duke/Spellacy. Duke and Spellacy both won in the trial but ALPA agreed to a settlement with the Duke plaintiffs before the jury could rule on damages. The amount of the settlement was never disclosed but ALPA had to sell their building in Washington to pay for it.
The Spellacy plaintiffs refused to settle. They won the jury verdict but the judge ultimately threw out the verdict "as a matter of law". The Spellacy lawyers then appealed that ruling. That's the appellate court cases you are reading. The appeals court upheld the district judge's decision to throw out the case. So ALPA won.
Turned out they would not have had to pay Duke but it was too late. The settlement was a done deal. A lot of people said it nearly bankrupted ALPA but the people who know how much it really cost have never talked.
SPELLACY II v. AIRLINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL III, No.

His Ford Explorer was found in the Target parking lot in Lakeville MN on August 28th. Anyone with any info should contact the Lakeville MN PD.
Boy! Am I ever glad ALPA never lost a lawsuit. Whew!
Is ALPAs position in the world so tenuous that "the insiders" have to circle the wagons? Whatever happened to "we are ALPA."
Do any of you insiders know how much Duke's settlement was? Let's have a rollcall vote.

Unionoids, insiders, gerrymanderers...all names used as put downs in the last few days. There were even comments about choices in undergarments.
I'm one of the few that responded to Check's post on lawsuits. I provided some facts. Is that circling the wagons?
You might consider your own posts and your point of reference...use trip parking as an example. You commented about what you see as a workaround and that "all" the 777 crews in briefing are talking about it. 2 777A's that aren't ALPA insiders said they'd never heard any of what you talked about. Yet that wasn't circling the wagons?
Hmmmm.

Sailor, I urge you to edit or remove your post. If you think you're really posting anonymously, any clown PI might disagree.
The ALPA deadweight are getting defensive (threats on a webboard? really?)-- we must have hit a nerve.
Every time I come home from a trip there's an accident on the 405. One Friday night, I saw a woman shot by a guy who'd she engaged in road rage. By the time i drove by the scene the police were draping her body with a tarp. She died. LA traffic is the worst.
We'd have a blast.
