Just looking for some advice please?! I know that once Delta starts hiring, it's going to take a wing and a prayer! But can anyone tell me if devoting oneself to operating as Delta connection only, would give you any advantage? If you could move to the interview, and explain that you have spent the last 7 years working only Delta flights in hopes of landing a job there, would that mean anything?!

It might help. I knew very little about Delta when I interviewed other than jumpseating on them here and there.

They look much more at the total product of the pilot. Delta Connection carriers run operations very different from mainline in many cases, so I would not rely on that at all.

What if I was a product of the wholly owned! (Probably not spelled right!) Went to Comair in 2006, post strike and not knowing all the drama of the Comair-Delta past, then moved to ASA! From what I understand, they share the same MEC office! Since I was 9 years old I have always aspired to be a Delta pilot! That has played a large role in my choice of regionals. Will it really matter?! Or should I have picked a regional based on upgrade time alone?

Basically, my question comes down to PIC time, or brand loyalty? I'm guessing PIC.

As for the last 7 years "working only Delta flights" won't get you a thing.
Being employed by a DCI carrier does get you extra points in the Airline Apps Delta Addendum, so make sure to fill that section out...

Cheers

I didn't mean any disrespect by saying "working Delta flights." I guess my real guestion should be which is better, 2500 hours total time with 1000 hours PIC for United; or 7000 hours SIC for "wholly owned Delta connection carriers." I'm sure the PIC will be better for now, but what about 5 years from now? Does the PIC time really carry that much weight?

The 1000TPIC is worth much more than 7000 SIC. Best of luck.
