Your math is off by about double, but yes the ability to 'not fill' 150 seats *could be* a reduction in roughly 2 pilots in each each category not adding to pilot costs on the companies' bottom line.

1% in payrates is roughly $23m/year.
So obviously I dreamed up the 270 number in regards to the ALV. I'll standby for you to tell me that it cost the company money to raise our ALV.

Pilots are leaving and soon it will be mandatory, we're at least 12 months away from hiring. Call me crazy, but I think that the ALV increase will allow the company to wait even longer before they have to hire.

It's wholly inadequate. As far as I'm concerned, the only time a passenger should see a Delta logo on a Skywest (or whomever) flight is if a Delta guy happens to be jumpseating on one.

This is what I heard. Rumor, BS, fact, etc.? You decide

Wouldn't be surprised with a widebody order that included some cargo only planes possibly? Or more widebodies because the cargo itself will make the passenger ops more profitable? I think we already had the discussion that the pax version of the 777 holds more cargo than the pax version of the 747, although the 747 holds any more people.

Every time I read about our new benefits, I get ****ed off. Did anyone else read that the 2014 Gold plan is only going to provide $1000 per family instead of the current $1500. You then get to jump through hoops to get up to $600 more. The hoops you have to jump through are to me none of Delta's business. I feel they are personal decisions that Delta should have no part in. Does anyone have any experience with the diamond HSA or DPMP? I am strongly considering the DPMP option.

DO THE DIAMOND! After careful scrutiny, Diamond is cheap and excellent. I just hope they dont yank Diamond out next year, like my beloved PPO

I was tempted with the DPMP (closest to the leaving PPO) however DIAMOND is better for my family.

The 777-200 LR is, plain and simple, an amazing jet. I don't track the numbers on the various versions, but my basic understanding is the 777-200er carries a bunch of people and cargo a long way, the 777-300er carries more farther, and the LR carries a bunch of people and cargo non-stop between any two cities in the world. Yet somehow they pale in comparison to 40 year old douglas products (Bar and FTB bait). Especially when masterfully flown by NewK.

Oooooo...I hope we get some. I do appreciate the "stick & rudder" skills required of the old Douglas jets.

I just have to figure out how to quantify "a bunch" if I ever have to do an AWABS long form.

A very good reason why we should buy the 5 AI 777LR's.
