In an environment with less discipline, as long as Delta isn't stupidly providing the discipline by itself, I would guess we would be competitive, and do well. Valuations for the industry... not so much.
I think the article is based on the call, and the call didn't elaborate. They said (paraphrasing) that they're playing Bombardier against Embraer, that they should have a "better idea" by the end of the year. That they were allowed up to 70 per the TA, that the deal would be over some number less than that, and seemed to suggest it would involve some 50-seat returns.

So are the 70 jets for Delta pilots to fly or are they going to regionals?
Delta pilots fly RJ's? To quote one of my recent Captains... "I don't want to fly RJ's." This was in response to me telling him that the 70 new large RJ's should be flown by Delta pilots. So to answer your question... No. They'll be flown by the regionals, of course.
