Completely unrelated to likely LH and THY merger ;-) VS now will likely join SkyTeam... Cheers George |

Why is it that pro DALPA or a pro Delta comments are considered spin, but the anti comments are not?

No, the opposite actually. If you have vacation during a reserve month, you use the charts in the bid packet to find out how many X days you get in addition to your vacation. So for December with no vacation you would have 31 reserve days available. So you would get 14 days off (Reserve guarantee less then 75 hours)But with vacation, you only have 24. 31-7 days of vacation equals 24 days of availability. So depending on your fleet and the reserve guarantee you're looking at 10 or 11 days off.
In previous contracts, your 2 days of CQ would further reduce your days of availability (down to 22) and that would reduce your total days off. So under or new contract that doesn't happen. |

LH = Lufthansa THY = Turkish Airlines Whys is this a big deal? Turkish is growing at at least double the rate of Emirates... and look where they stand... Their low interest 777-300 killed our Istanbul yield... And they already have more international seats than Delta in play. http://centreforaviation.com/images/...ines_top20.PNG With Turkish in the Lufthansa Star Alliance camp and Richard Branson seeing British Airways and OneWorld by extension as the sworn enemy, there is only SkyTeam left to join... Obviously there's a few more plays in there involving USAirways and American... Perhaps we can get our EASKs to 49.75% for the period from April 2013 to March 2014 to fulfill 1.P.4 Note 2... R1, I had this exact scenario in Oct. Count your CQ days as Reserve days of availability. In a 31 day bid period you will use the 24 days of availability column. So since the M88 ALV for Dec is 74 hours it looks like at minimum you will get 11 X days. If you're category is projecting at least 20% reserves, then you'll receive 12 X days.

LOS ANGELES -- Denzel Washington's character in "Flight" drinks a lot throughout the film, but his portrayal of a highly functioning alcoholic pilot isn't going down well with brewing company Anheuser-Busch or the distributor of Stolichnaya vodka.
Anheuser-Busch said Monday that it has asked Paramount Pictures Corp. to obscure or remove the Budweiser logo from the film, which at one point shows Washington's character drinking the beer while behind the wheel. |
So a high end lie flat 757 service?
No hiring until 2014? :( DC-9s sticking around to cover for the 757s exiting this year? |
