A few interesting things in DAL's SEC filing yesterday.

What is it with you? Why is it that despite the fact I read this thread religiously (maybe even addictively), the rare times I ask an innocent but reasonable question I either get insulted or completely ignored? Seriously! Am I wording it wrong? Is it a ridiculous question?

Geez, don't get your panties in a wad... Some one will answer. In fact I will but if you keep making posts like that and still expect an anwer... I don't know what to tell you.
We get a duty rig of 1 for 2 between the hours of 0600 and 2200. Its 1 to 1.75 in the time period of 2201 to 0559. If you go thru the 0559 in the morning while on 1 for 1.75, you continue to receive that until you get a break. Our trip rig is 1 for 3.75 We have other things such as duty period average (DPA) and will be implementing a calander day amount that was negotiated in the new CBA in a month or two. (Not enough though it's a foot in the door to be improved upon.) Denny |

Acl's post, on the other hand, puts a nice big smile on my face. How many bodies would we hire for 66 mainline jets? :):) Ps here are 65 underboobs Underboobs (65 pics) |
trip rig 1:3.5
duty rig 1:2 average daily credit per flying duty period 5:15 per day (this one does not apply to reserves) minimum per calender day 4:30 average per day |

Thanks! Damn, I'm wondering if that bike is worth it...
Free cookies? Did somebody mention free cookies? I'm in-- :) My dos centavos...scour the cvg craigslist ads for a bike. I bought a backup trek mountain bike that was basically unused for $150...aluminum frame, front shock, disc brakes and dusty. No shipping headache. Trek fits my geometry. Another brand may fit yours. I think you need to bid the 777 to free up a captain seat on the -er. I think Newk agrees. In initial training you have to remember one answer to get thru the electronic oral..."automatically.":D I went to school 5+ years ago and that had to be the answer to 1/4 of the test. They've probably dumbed it down since I went since the pass rate is higher now. Off topic: Just finished the book "lone survivor" I couldn't put it down. When you begin to lose faith in America, this book helps restore it. |

Outsider question: sounds like hiring is base on the next AE? Marketing for 2013? When will these plans be conveyed? Making some decisions that are pretty heavily based on DL hiring. I understand there is no crystal ball. Just trying to make the best decisions for family.

It doesn't make too much difference since the 737s are slated as replacement aircraft but with this little growth I wonder what else is being parked. 88 717s added 16 MD-90s added = 104 added aircraft but the fleet is only going up by 66. How many DC9s are currently in the system? |

Thus far I am placing a "cautious" trust in this management team to make smart moves that will strengthen the enterprise, and a strong enterprise is able to increase and sustain a profit with that growth. |
