It will only work if they have adequate reserve coverage, which I believe is higher than normal over a holiday, but if they do have the coverage, you can drop a trip over Xmas. You will lose the time, just like any personal drop, but you cannot white slip a trip that touches any of the days you APD'd. You do not have to use all the APD days, just one will cause the entire trip to drop, then you can white slip on the other days.
Ex: If you have say, a 4 day that starts on the 24th, you can use just ONE day of APD, the 24th, which will drop the entire trip, then you can white slip something on the 25th (late sign in) or 26th to make up the time. Clear as mud? :D |

Slowly but surely we're getting the fleet done. Hopefully that will keep increasing the number of pilots on the airplane - maybe that's why there was the additional crews on the latest AE. |
