Economy Comfort Seats

So, list yourself, get the best seat you can then at 23:59 prior to departure go back into delta.com and reselect your seat. I forget where I read this, but I didn't discover it by trial and error:)

However, I thought this was fixed in the last contract. For the last 2 or 3 months, I've gotten an EC seat right off. A quick call to the CP Support Center will also get ya a good seat and really answer the question.

This is how I think it works:

Crew travel - You can upgrade to EC if within 24 hours of flight time.
Company Business - You can upgrade to EC anytime.

I think this is why guys are recalling having selected EC greater than 24 hours out in the past. I just had a DH (Crew Travel) and was restricted until 24 hours.

Retreat to fight another day. Absolutely makes sense.
Retreat to once again retreat another day. Does not seem very farsighted to me.

No its not. Its a sign of very bad things to come. At least for the next 24-36 hours after you drink it.

I hope so, but that's not what I get from reading the intel so far.

And, they still have guys furloughed, right?

Some of there stuff is better some is worse. I don't have their TA handy but these two come to mind:

Better at UCAL - 16% toward retirement.
- 6 weeks of vacation.

I'm sure there are others as well.

Cause its always getting dragged into court, because it has a lot of holes in it, or did Samantha Ronson get hired at Alaska?

Meh. We don't need more vacation weeks, we need better vacation weeks. I think UCAL is in the 3:40-ish range per day, which is better than our 3:15 but it really needs to be at least 5.

A 35 hour week is a powerful block of credit on your line that actually gets you 7 extra days off. 21-22.5 hours usually gets you 3, maybe 4, and is in the sweet spot for making the long haul guys unblockable.

If there was a 7 day trip that reported at 00:01 on day 1 and released at 23:59 on day 7, we would be all righteously indignant about how it needed to pay at least 35 hours, yet with vacation we accept 22.5? A "week" of vacation gets you an extra 3 days?

Ah. One of FTB's posts had 3 or 4 cities in it. I wasn't sure where you were talking about. :D

What has changed in the last few years, though, is the amount of time we're allowed to pick up. I don't know what category you're in, but I routinely fly with guys that fly in excess of 100 credits hours per month.

If the average block hours flown would go down to 80 hours, we would need 1000 more pilots.

I find that very sad. Very, very sad.
