Actually, those drugs scare me. Before childbirth my wife had a photographic memory and could literally memorize a 700 page book almost verbatim (she speaks 5 languages and can get by in another 2). After childbirth, she's more "normal." At least she doesn't show me up on my aircraft's memory items any more. We can't figure out if it was the drugs, or lack of sleep. But, she's still hot, so who cares? |
i think the crazy thing about the epidural is how do you push if you can't feel your lower body? it's like trying to do a bench press but not feeling your arms and chest.

Frankly, I suggest not being in the room when she's pushing. Whole lot better to be at the head of the bed, if you're going to be in the room at all. Best to just have the Doc hand you the kid while your wife is still cross eyed and babbling about, well who knows, I had no idea what mine was babbling about, or even which language she was babbling in. Some secrets need to be kept, and the miracle of birth is probably one of them, JMHO. Ohh .. and I forgot to welcome 80Kts to the wild world of hotel sex, nap sex and sex in places in your house you had never really considered using for that purpose - garage, aircraft hangar ... sure, uhm, let me roll the tool box over by the compressor... Just like being a teenager, except you're trying to hide from your kids instead of your parents. |

Hey 80, you know for the most part I think you stand at the side and so you don't get the full show. So I had no problems, not even nauseous at all and you'll probably feel the same... until they turn on those huge heat lamp lights that make it easier for the doctor to see.
You'll start to bake standing there and for some reason now you see everything, it gets rough. |
I think we should help 80 and the other new fathers to be with a list of what not to say during child birth...
8. 7. Does it hurt? 6. (on the phone) Yeah, she got the epidural, makes everything easy. 5. You know, my mom said that you should... 4. I'm starting to get a headache and my feet hurt... 3. Hey Doc, why do you use the metric system? 10cm? Really? Why? 2. What do you want to do about dinner? <- Grasshopper? 1. Man Up |
8) Any way we can get a TV moved into that corner over there? Green Bay kicks off in 30 minutes.
Congrats 80! |
We need to get a pool going on what time the little clamp is going to appear.
I'm saying halftime of Vikings/Packers. We all need to turn the label of our Bud Light toward the hospital. Our proximity to the maternity ward will create a powerful connection between the miniature clamp and his first beer. http://b.vimeocdn.com/ts/372/541/372541239_640.jpg |
