That Salma Hayek picture is just proof that String Theory probably the way things go. Unreal tensile strength!

And she thanks God. How sweet.....She probably doesn't even drink, either.
Katherine Webb discusses her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut - Extra Mustard - Jimmy Traina - SI.com Webb: Oh, my gosh. Absolutely. I've been approached by different publications, but I think a lot of America appreciated how classy I was, and I got a lot of responses saying I was America's sweetheart and all that kind of stuff. I'm from Alabama and I have morals and I have class. That's my personality. A lot of people have said I'm the anti-Kim Kardashian and I'm all right with that. Luckily, I graduated in May 2011, so I haven't had a reason to go back on campus unless it's been for a football game. I've had a little bit of backlash from Auburn, and I understand. Auburn and Alabama have one of the biggest rivalries in all of college football. But I lived in Los Angeles and there aren't a lot of great guys in L.A., so for me to find someone who has a good, humble heart and who is amazing and treats me so well, that's a really special find for me. Modeling has always been something I've been really good at I couldn't be anymore blessed. |
Those of you Gwinnett County people (like ftb and I) can rejoice! Behold what hails from our fine county!

Union politics, aside from this being on the DPA website, watch the recap of the Delta investor meeting (words directly from Richard and Ed) and tell me where you think the company is going for growth (ie organic vs JV).
Is what's good for Delta making money always good for the pilots? Is constructive engagement helping or hurting your career? Honest questions. You can start at the 3:25 mark Delta Pilots Association - DPA News - Delta Investor Day*2012 |

And how will DPA change that? Will they chose destructive engagement? How has that worked for USAPA & APA? What solutions can DPA provide that will magically change these things?

DPA is going to take over management of the airline as well as the union. They have several pilots identified as future CEO's. Pilots in the past have a great track record running airlines.
because they don't have the foresight necessary to handle the current airline industry? or maybe they'd get run over in high stakes negotiations? I'm just kind of curious why we shouldn't trust a pilot to run an airline but we should trust them to run our union and negotiate our contracts against the very same seasoned professionals that'd eat them up if they were the ceo? of course with that in mind and with the way things are going right now ... i concede you have a good point. |

you don't think a pilot could run a major airline? why?

Perhaps, but it's unlikely we'd ever get a pilot into the fat cat club. Putting that aside, DPA can't change any of the things they constantly whine about. They lie non stop in their emails. Their most recent email had two huge lies. 1) They are no where near that close to calling a vote. Thousands of cards aren't even current. 2) ALPA can NOT ASSESS THEIR MEMBERS to cover any awarded settlements from the TWA trial. An assessment for that purpose must be APPROVED by a majority vote of ALPA members. So no Tim Caplinger. We don't need to hurry and vote DPA in to avoid being assessed by ALPA. |
I don't think Jack posted that link to comment on the DPA. At this point, I don't even think they are worth the debate.
