Come on out! I was referring to the CAs you were flying with that were on GS's and complaining about hiring.

Yes. They were ATL based. Sending PM shortly...

I also had 2 JBLU jumpseaters in the past month, one a DAL furlough and the other not. The furloughee stated that he was coming back if recalled, and the other wanted to be a DAL new hire. Both were 320 A's. In both cases I told them they were nuts to leave a captain's job at a profitable airline earning over 200 k a year. One was an LCA and wanted to come over to us as a new hire. He also bragged about making 120-140 hours pay a month with line checks and ot pay over 78 hours. I told him he was crazy to want to start over at the bottom with us.

Did it occur to you that he was jerking your chain? Hope you told him he'll make about 40K year one, 70K year two and work about 95% weekends on reserve flying 3-4 legs/day with vacations in Feb and Sept for a long, long time. Good thing for him is that if he's serious, he's got about 2-3 more years where he can stockpile a lot of $$$$.

He was serious as a heart attack. He commuted out of MSP to BOS, said it was a 2 leg commute after driving 2+ hours to MSP. The FO and I tried to convince him he was crazy to want to leave JBLU. Oh, he was also 38.

Yikes-I "think" only 5-6 post 2008 hires can even hold MSP. That's 5 years.

In fact let's be sure to revisit these posts at that time. I hope I'm wrong but history from ALPA politicking and accurate information is not on our side.

PS- half a year has already ticked off the clock.

The delivery schedules are exactly what was put out by the company and DALPA. The last two bids were largely positive and had a net increase in Captains slots. In fact the last bid everyone on here talked about how terrible it was going to be even though it added a significant number of Captains jobs. The results came out and every said that was not so bad. The same thing will happen on the March bid. There is a large number of Captains bids that will help offset the FO surpluses. We have had those surpluses for a long time but forward looking layered furlough protections kept pilots on the property. We are now working though the surpluses and hiring will follow. Had it not been for lower then expected ER numbers and a large number of pilots on leave returning we would be hiring now. In fact flight ops wanted to hire but could not get funding from management.
I guess management could still cancel the 717's and 737-900's that will start coming at 5 per month in the fall however I don't see that happening.

MIL leave has stabilized at 209. The 739 are replacement aircraft and the first 717s are the same.

The bids have hardly been largely positive... heck, I haven't had any positive movement in ATL since 2008!

I never would have guessed that on my 6 year anniversary coming up I'll be more junior than I was on my first anniversary.

Since I am impatient and want to know now, do we just subtract profit sharing from last years pay and then take 6.67% or do we need to take out all those $100 bonuses and other pays?

Oh the SVAC awards are out.

Not trying to start anything but could you explain to me how a new hire at delta would make 40k? I was thinking the pay scale was 60+. I figured 55-60k. Just wondering. I am hoping to get on and am hoping 40k isn't what I would be making 1st year:eek:
