So why are you an airline pilot and not a full time investor?

Interesting question...

I flew a trip with a guy who said: I am quitting as soon as my trades replace my income.

My response: I would never retire if I had to count on my trades.

The point is, money is just a tool. It is not security or happiness or longevity. When you have "enough" money, you realize how little the world has to offer materially. In this life, you have to do something to fill up your days. I like flying paid mini-vacations to go to places most people can only dream about going.

For you 767 drivers.

No problem as Delta begins to encourage 40 knot crosswind landings.

I agree Scambo. My wife and I have had this dicussion, she likes to buy lottery tickets. She asked, "If we won, would you quit your job?" I say, "No, but I'd bid onto something where I'd be more senior, that lays over in the Caribbean, only fly a couple trips a month, put the rest on the swap board!"

That's why the F/A's are still flying into their 70's (and 80's!). They are getting paid to go on a Delta Dream Vacation, and if it doesn't fit their schedule, they can easily drop a few every month.

But it does raise an interesting question;

What IF...that had been a carbon fiber tube 787?

Would it have cracked and split open, or held up? And instead of the tube absorbing some of the force, through bending as the 767 did, that force had been transfered to the passengers head and necks, in a whiplash (down, then up) type fashion?

I think the plan is for the 787 to never have a hard landing. :eek:

Well, I guess my question should just have been, what do you think LCC will open at in the morning? Sorry about the moron thing, as I almost immediately went back and edited it as it's not my style.

Fair enough. You did mention on Tues, however, that your downside was mitigated by having a tight stop set. If you bought the contracts at 1.53, what does a tight stop mean to you? To me it would mean 1.4 or 1.3 I ask because the price dropped to 1.15 intraday and you apparently did not get stopped out.
By way of LLC price after open, I don't see too much above 15 as the news of the merger has been baked in for quite a while now. When my barber is telling me about buying before the official announcement, the pros are way ahead. Good luck in any case. Wish I got in around 1.2 on Tues. I would sell 1/2 at the open and let the other half ride thru cob Fri.

I put in a stop at 1.25 but cancelled it yesterday am. No stop in now, and will dump 20 contracts this am. I expected more of a pop, but I guess they are valuing the enterprise at $11 b. I don't think shorting DAL right now is a good play any more because I think oil is going to drop.

In my category guys who touch a weekend can be in bucket 3 rather easily at the end of even a slow month while half a dozen or so guys with weekends off can have 0 RAWs at the same time.

Well, I dumped those calls for $1.71, a whole 0.12 profit not including commission. Woo hoo!
