I'm sure this has come up before somewhere but I can't find it... anyone know where the 717 training will be held?

Very true! 737 only. They are proud of their product (and should be) but DAL and AMR are very big contributors to their bottom line. So (AS) being too comfortable at status quo is not healthy. I sincerely hope we dont aquire AS but if we do, since their expectations were only narrow body careers that is how it should play out.....
But IMHO Alaska is too expensive to buy and could be replaced with cheap Airbus' from France and growing from within is a lot cheaper than buying them. If AS plays ball and does not get to smug then the deal with DAL at least will stay in place for a while. HA has A LOT more positives than Alaska does (big issue is AS is too expensive) fewer pilots, common fleet, route authorities, and like it or not the pilots will buy off on it more so than an AS takeover. Not that pilots have a whole lot of say.... just sayin! But Maybe, we are looking at Jet Blue so we can become king of the east coast and keep the status quo with Alaska out west. I only mention Jet Blue because no one is so either it's true cuz it's secret or I'm wayyyy off base:D |
Base visits anyone? Please share any feedback
Hopefully some good questions asked and info provided.
Is anyone else interested if we (Delta) respond to the perception of both AMR and UAL having better hubs, potential network, and clearly superior wide body fleet. If those two operations get their act together, we could be in trouble a few years out. Other than NYC, we are being passed by. I'm really hoping a huge WB order is in the works to keep us on par. On the bright side, we can always put our high value pax on our JV partners products. |

I'm wondering if AA will be forced to cut back on their Alaska codeshare as a cost of the merger. If so, Alaska's value comes down enough to make it possible? Maybe.......

I think we could do organic growth as long as we get AS HVCs hooked on Delta. George once related to it as the crack dealer plan, get em hooked ad then take their money. Actually, he said it more eloquently than that. :D
note to self.....whiskey tango foxtrot is not allowed on APC |

Buzz you and I have flown together, I even bought your book after that. That was back in my 737 days. Not well to do either, just changed the way I manage my funds. I don't put much of it at risk through options trades, but I do get my best returns. I short UVXY and VXX, and am long SVXY and XIV. Look up their one year charts, almost a no brainer, but you do have to have an understanding of derivatives.
