Do you mean glass avionics, or those little sun shades the DC9s have? :D

Personally, I think the M88/90s will be around for quite a while.

I'm sure that's the idea/business case.

Much different overhead panels. Wonder if the FAA would even consider that.....

Crap, so even more of a delay in hiring most likely. If the FAA allows a common type.

Looks like 46 planes... 319/320/321.

With plans to go to 70+ in a few years I believe.

I would be surprised if this cat will grow DAL organically. Maybe more codeshare, Jv's and career stagnating mergers.

TEN

add to that..........The Delta MO historically is not to grow organically. Delta either acquires or merges when it wants to grow into somewhere. So, grow out west with Alaska or protect the east flank with Jet Blue? Interesting times

I'm not an expert, but it made sense to me. I think we should just let Alaska be Alaska, without us, and build up LAX and SEA with 717's and A320's (since they are being underutilized and all).

Organic growth sounds good to me. :D

I agree, DAL and RA will not buy another airline to just grow. It is far cheaper (especially the way DL seems to get AC) to work a deal with Boeing or Airbus get a bunch of used or (like the 100 73NG"s from Boeing) Airbus' that are still being made but nobody wants while waiting for the Neos'. Why buy the problems of an integration unless it offers a lot of plus. HAL just in route authorities is better than AS. Spirit, Virgin and JB are just narrow body feed that can be replicated by growing from within..... without the BS of integration. Airbus' are too cheap to buy used. Why buy employee problems that come with it..

Now if we could just take the female FA's from Virgin and JB we would be golden!!

Are 717 trainees supposed to be going to MD-88 training and then tag on 717 training?

This would be a set back to the survey inputs which called for bringing MD-88/90 training on par with 320/319 pay, which of course I was assured wasn't mentioned in the survey....the one we never got to see.

Per the B717 Fleet page the B717 will have its own initial course. Of course, it's only for those not coming from the M88/90.

I understand it's a 5-day transition from M88 to 717.

Will it also be 5 days to go the other way, if guys bid that way down the road?

That would suck.

That would seem to conflict with the one category theory.

Can someone post a route map of HA. It's pretty interesting. Lots of Japan to include one HND route. I think 3 destinations in Australia and Auckland. Airlineroute.net also has us pulling back more of our summer Europe flying out of ATL.
