In other news, there's not money in Cargo and no money in Memphis. Southwest flies freight and folks » The Commercial Appeal

Maybe Delta is sly like Cool Hand Luke. Probably not.

I agree, DAL and RA will not buy another airline to just grow. It is far cheaper (especially the way DL seems to get AC) to work a deal with Boeing or Airbus get a bunch of used or (like the 100 73NG"s from Boeing) Airbus' that are still being made but nobody wants while waiting for the Neos'. Why buy the problems of an integration unless it offers a lot of plus. HAL just in route authorities is better than AS. Spirit, Virgin and JB are just narrow body feed that can be replicated by growing from within..... without the BS of integration. Airbus' are too cheap to buy used. Why buy employee problems that come with it..

Now if we could just take the female FA's from Virgin and JB we would be golden!!

FIIGy Baby, I hope you are right:)

Ok........under the heading of REALLY WEIRD.............

Just had recency training added to my Feb schedule.........for LAST Friday.

Of course, but the time I caught it the guy in Atlanta has gone home. Nothing on the sim schedule updated today. Guess I'll pack a bag and be ready to depart my month long holding fix in the morning, just in case.

My luck just keeps getting better.........a passport and China Visa SNAFU, my new ID card is in Seattle with no trip scheduled to go out of there and now a post dated sim.

Yes it is actually. Let me check if they updated my landing currency too, now that would be "interesting"

Oh yeah, forgot to add my bogas FAA license. It had A320 on it vs A330.....at least it was caught by a LCA. Talk about a flurry of phone calls over that one.:D

So gents what's the over-under on DAL's next move???

Personally, I don't see us doing anything until we attempt to grab a few of the leftovers from the now officially announced AA-USAir tie up.

One thing a captain from the SEA area recently told me was that the northwester pacific region has a lot of brand loyalty towards the AS brand. I see a HA acquisition/merger more palatable from our standpoint, as well as managements'.

I agree, HA makes sense from a fleet and route network. It would fit nicely into our Asian network. I'm worried about being left in the dust by AMR and UAL. At least AMR has a big hole in Asia, unless you count the JAL code share. Buying AS would be insane and I don't see RA doing that.
