And all it (max credit) does is build you a line in the upper half of the line construction window (ALV +7.5).
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will state it more clearly...

I'll do the quick math for you on what a 777/747 Captain at Delta makes:
DALPA says the "Average Pilot" gets paid 87 per month. (I'm well below average I guess)
OK, 87 x 12 mo. = 1044 hrs. pay per year, x $250/hr. = $261,000./yr.
If you add in a 30% override for Medical and 401K contributions (which is wayyy too high now that we don't have a DB plan) it's another $78,300, for a total of $339,300/yr., at least $200,000 BELOW what the President is pulling in.

This whole compensation thing is just a bunch of crap. Much of the compensation is reimbursement for housing expense, car expense, and many other expenses, something that anyone would expect that is forced to spend most of their time away from home for a short TDY. All of those items listed above get charged to the "compensation" of the President when much of it is reimbursement for expenses incurred. If he has to host a party for Congressman and is reimbursed for the expense, guess what it shows up as "compensation." The ALPA President works every day of the year without fail. The best part of my job is that I fly my trip, go home and forget about Delta until my next sign in. Lee never gets that kind of break.
It just brings up this whole populist argument that has been the staple of internet boards for a long time now. I bet if you go on some forum for gate agents or mechanics, they talk about what a bunch of overpaid underworked prima donas that Delta pilots are. It is all a matter of perspective. I am constantly surprised by pilots that then buy into this whole populism crap. Go out into the real world and let everyone know how you just can't get by on $250,000 a year and see what comes your way. Are you then going to ask for a pay cut?

Sardellis » Entrees
Only on a very special evening would I go to a restaurant with prices like these.
Yet ALPA has no problem going there and stiffing us with the bill.
Personally... I'm disgusted! Their conduct is, once again, reprehensible!
(Cue: Sailing, Alfa, Slow, etc. to tell me I'm wrong and there's nothing wrong with this.)

Just like how I was in Target today listening to 2 soon to be mothers discussing how they were going to game the system to get more WIC. I can't get my son a new baseball glove because I gave that money to the government to hand to a couple retards who shouldn't be procreating anyway. Rant over. Oh yeah the baseball glove story isn't true.
I haven't checked in here in a few months and now I remember why. These last few pages are ridiculous. Some of you guys need to find a hobby.
Okay, so if Delta forced you to live and work in a city other than where you live for 4 years, would you expect to be reimbursed for that or would you just maintain two households on your own dime? Do you count the cost of the hotels you stay in on layovers as compensation? How about transportation to and from the hotels? How about training expense for recurrent? What about per diem and meals that you get on the airplane, are you adding that up?

No, of course not. Therefore the rest of your arguement is faulty.

"Disgusting" is too polite.
We should identify every single person who ate that dinner and vote their *** out of office immediately.
And that's only one example. There are many more.
It should be possible to have ALPA National produce that itemized bill.
I'd be interested to know how much of it was alcohol.
I've never sipped a $110 bottle of wine.
Those union boys live well.
And here I thought we were flaunting our affluence with our recent posts about India Pale Ale.
(enjoying a Sierra Nevada Torpedo and a GREAT basketball game right now)

I'm no "PBS Jedi Master" (Far from it...) but my understanding is that "set condition max credit" will override everything else. Meaning that PBS will sacrifice some of the "good trips" that you would have received in order to meet that condition which may result in you being awarded some "less than optimal" trips.
And all it (max credit) does is build you a line in the upper half of the line construction window (ALV +7.5).
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will state it more clearly...
