Regarding the above comments on the RJs and Comair: I commute from CVG to JFK on Comair, and have had very good luck with the leg to JFK. You guys are working hard and doing a good job. Thanks. (On the westbound leg, I tend to avoid the RJ, but that's because of the lousy gate/ boarding situation at JFK.)

You mean, as explained to you by DALPA. I don't even know what we have proposed at NWA...all rumor and fear. This is a good deal and will come to fruition, hopefully with the pilots in agreement, but too many people have $$ to reap in a merger for this not to happen. And seeing that your AVTAR states you are a CRJ dude, I'm guessing you must be a new hire at DAL. You have nothing to lose in a merger, you're at the bottom, so relax......:o

Your saying someone at the bottom of the list has nothing to worry about. What are you thinking?

I took it more like, "Don't worry, this won't hurt a bit."

Exactly. The guys/gals at the bottom of the list are gonna get the worst of everything here. Highest potential to be furloughed, highest potential to be bumped out of bases/equipment, senior guys get 100K equity while junior guys get 10K even though they have to deal with this crap sandwich the longest, hosed in the integration, and we probably won't even get to vote on the whole deal because we are on "probation". The guys at the bottom of the list have the most to be worried about in my opinion. However, that's just the way it goes when your at the bottom of the list. I'd still rather be at the bottom on the NWA or DAL list than somewhere on ASA, SKYW, or XJT list.

From what I hearing you numbers for the equity stake are a little off. I think that you need to call your rep.
New hires will get about five times your number.
I would venture to guess that IF this comes to a vote, it will be voted down.
There are way to many issues here.
I know that DAL plan on hiring either way. I agree that being on the bottom of a 11,000 pilot list is not a fun place to be. 10% of the list just became a really big number.

Just pulled those numbers out of the air. The SLC reps did confirm to me that the junior guys will get less than senior guys, but they said they didn't know specifics on numbers. In any case, this isn't the thread to debate this issue. I'm fairly certain in either case I'll have a job and be able to pay the bills. I may get less equity and lose some seniority, but I'll still have a job and that is what matters. Delta is a good place to be and if I was starting class on the 17th, I would be just as happy and confident as I was last summer when I started. The only option on the revenue side that Delta has in both scenarios as a stand alone carrier or merged with NWA is to expand internationally. That means lots of pilots which is good for all of us.

Yeah, all we can do is rabble-rouse, and that's what I've been doing at the roadshows I've run into. Fortunately there are a lot of senior guys with balls that have been voicing vehement opposition to this as well.

Exactly. Your last sentence says it all.

If I were a red-tail I would certainly hope it happens too. Your pilot group would leave a lot of money on the table if it doesn't. I'm not so sure about it coming to fruition however. I sincerely believe Delta management is backing Dalpa. If not, why not go ahead with the merger once they had the management side resolved, regardless of the pilots wishes. I think they know too well red book, green book, whatever the hell book is not the kind of atmosphere they want to force together. They know the pilots need to be on board or this will be USAir on some serious roids.

Not too much positive from the Delta side. SLI headaches and not much in the way of pay increases, stagnation-the list is long and certainly doesn't need to be rehashed. I would love this whole thing to go away and just stay friendly competitors.

Not to change the subject...

I received my "clear to train" email over a week ago - but still no phone call from Brian yet. Anyone else waiting for a class date?

Also, I know a class started today (3/17) - does anyone know when the next class is scheduled to begin?

Thanks.
