Thanks y'all. It looks like I'll be going Tricare Prime with DAL's dental coverage, but still open to other options.

Excited about getting to the Crown Plaza in Atlanta tomorrow. See you Monday GunshipGuy!

Yall get the Crown Plaza for 2-3 days then off to the Comfort Inn?

I have no idea how long at the Crown...the Crown plaza is all it said on the list.

I was expecting the Comfort Inn. Is the Comfort Inn & Suites full?

Guys

As another mil retiree and a returning DAL furloughee, go with DAL's medical and dental. Its better than TRICARE Prime. Better coverage and no annual premiums pus smaller co-pays. You can always go back to TRICARE if you want to but I don't think you'll want to. When I was furloughed I went back to TRICARE...ouch.

For Tricare Select if you are still in the Reserves or Guard, it cost 253 a month. A good deal. Most of the Delta pilots in my unit go with Tricare Reserve Selecto for medical, and Delta for dental. Just my two cents.

I'd look at that again. Not sure of your status, but as a 20 yr Mil retiree, my Tricare is less than 600 a YEAR for everyone. Truly a no-brainer for us. Dental was a different story.

One aspect that is often overlooked is the after tax cost. Tricare Reserve Select is paid for out of your take home pay (i.e. after tax dollars). The Delta insurance is paid for with pre tax dollars, so the net cost is lower.

If you already have a preferred set of doctors, take a look at who is in the different networks. The Delta plan works out better for some, because of the list of providers. Be sure to include that in your decision.

It may make a difference, but I'm not sure what the rule is on that one. I was done Nov. 30 and my conversion date was Nov. 31. I felt no need to split RCHs on that one.

?? Nov 31st ?? Repeat after me. 30 days has November, April, June and September. All the rest have 31, except for February, which in time has 29.

First Year Pay

What is monthly salary for first year guys, after the initial $2500 in training and the one month no pay? Is it $50 per hour times 70 hours ($3500) or a little better with perdiem?

Thanks,

And when does SECOND year pay start? Is it one year from 1st day of indoc, or is it one year from completion of IOE?

Unless it recently changed it is one year from your first day of indoc. This will be your seniority date for all of your non-rev benefits as well.
