The Feb 5,2007 newbies held their first lines on the ATL M88 this month.

A buddy of mind who was a jun07 hire got a line for apr. 16 days off, and partial weekends. ATL M88B. I'll have to ask but I think this will be his first month off reserve.

- Three more classes to go, including the one starting tomorrow (31 folks)
- May AE still happening as planned
- NWA merger is off, at least for now

Anyone have other Delta news?

When they called to clear me out of Looney holding, JM told me DAL plans to double their 777 fleet in the next 12-18 months. He confirmed they WILL need pilots and the current plan is to start interviewing late 08 and restart classes in early 09.

He sounded positive and upbeat, but with oil and other economic factors it's still just a plan.

That's about what we're hearing around the training center - possibly more hiring starting around October. Hopefully you were cleared out of holding direct an April/May class?

I'm now waiting to see how many spots are available. Today was the last day for any of the folks who bypassed recall to come back. Will gladly accept any class they offer!!:D:D

With the industry that volatile right now, I doubt many furloughees would come back at this time. Besides, the number of recalls is usually very small, 3-4 top, so it shouldn't affect your chances of fitting into the last classes.

Any word on if calls will go out tonight or tomorrow? (two weeks to go for April 21st)

Received the cleared to train email on the 28th.

FWIW to those who have applications in with Delta, I received an email from AK through the airlineapps portal stating that I was in the pool of applicants selected to interview based on my availability date and that they expected to begin interviewing late 08/early09 and that increased international growth via new deliveries would require additional pilots. We'll see what happens....

I've had ann app in with them for a year, an pre-screened in late Jan. I have about 2200 TT turbine 900PIC and about to finish instructor upgrade in a heavy boeing. All Mil time. I've got 5 internal recs also. If you don't mind me asking. What kind of time do you have and any suggestions on how to get that same email...
